II.9.2.6
Checking and resetting the compressor oil
load
With the unit at a standstill, the oil level in the compr essors must
partiall y cover the glass-inspec tion wi ndow positi oned on the
equalisation pi pe. T he level is not al ways c onstant becaus e it depends
on the temperatur e of the environment and the fr action of refrigerant in
solution in the oil. With the unit functioning and the conditions in
proximity of nominal, the oil level must be well-visible on the glass
inspecti on window positioned on the equalisati on pipe and it mus t als o
be still without turbulenc e. Any i ntegration of oil can be perfor med after
having applied a vacuum to the compressors, using the press ure point
situated on the intake. For the quantity and type of oil, refer to the
adhesi ve stic ker on the compressor or contact the RHOSS after-sales
centre.
II.9.2.7
Compressor functioning
The Scroll c ompressors have internal circuit breaker protection.
After any inter vention of the internal circuit breaker pr otecti on, nor mal
functi oning is reset automaticall y when the temperature of the windings
drops below the safety value envisioned ( variable stand-by ti me fr om a
few mi nutes to a few hours).
II.9.2.8
Functioning of the w ork, anti-freeze and
pressure probes
The temperature probes (ST1, ST 2, ST 3 and ST4) ar e inserted i nside a
well in c ontact with the c onducti ve paste and bloc ked outside with
silicone.
II.9.2.9
VTE/VTI functioning: thermostatic valve
The thermostatic expansion val ve is c alibrated to mai ntain overheating
of the gas by at least 6°C, to prevent the c ompressor from taking in
liquid. If the overheating s et must be varied, ac t on the val ve as follows :
turn anti-cloc kwise to decreas e overheating;
turn cloc kwise to i ncreas e overheating;
Proceed by removing the screw c ap positi oned at the si de of the s ame
and successi vely act with a relati ve regulation tool. Increasing or
decreasi ng the amount of refrigerant decreases or increas es the value
of the overheati ng temperature, keeping the temperatur e and pressure
inside the evaporator more or less c onstant, independentl y from the
variations of the heat l oad.
After ever y regulati on made on the val ve, allow a few minutes to pass
for the s ystem to s tabilise its elf.
II.9.2.10 PA functioning: high pressure switch
After its i nter vention, the press ure s witch mus t be rearmed manuall y by
pressing the button positioned on it full y home and resetting the alar m
from the control panel. Refer to the troubles hooting table to identify the
cause of the interventi on and carr y out the necessar y mai ntenance.
II.9.2.11 PB functioning: low pressure sw itch
After its i nter vention the alarm must be s et from the control panel; the
pressure s witc h is rear med automatically only when the i ntake press ure
reaches a value higher than the c alibration set differential. Refer to the
troubles hooting table to i dentify the c aus e of the inter vention and c arry
out the necessar y mai ntenance.

II.10 INDICATIONS FOR DISMANTLING THE UNI T
AND DISPOSAL OF DANGEROUS
SUBSTANCES
SAFEGUARD THE EN VIRONMENT !
RHOSS cares about protecting the environment.
When the unit is dismantled it is important to
adhere scrupulou sly to the follo wing procedures.
The unit s houl d onl y be dis mantled by a fir m authorized for the dispos al
of scrap machiner y/products .
The unit as a whole is composed of materials c onsidered as s econdary
raw materials and the following c onditi ons mus t be obser ved:
 the c ompressor oil must be removed, recovered and deli vered to a
body authorized to coll ect waste oil;
 if the applianc e contains antifreeze, this s hould not j ust be dispos ed
of freely, as it causes polluti on. It s hould be c ollected for possi ble
recycling.
 refrigerant fluid should not be disc harged into the atmos phere. It
shoul d instead be rec overed by means of homologated devices, stored
in suitable c ylinders and delivered to a company authorised for the
collection;
 the filter-drier and el ectronic c omponents (el ectrol ytic condens ers)
are considered s pecial was te, and mus t be delivered to a body
authorized to c ollect s uch items;
 the foamed pol yurethane rubber and foamed pol yethyl ene mesh
pipe i nsulati on, the foamed pol yurethane ( which surrounds the stor age
tank), the stretc h-wrap, the pol ystyrene pac kaging and the s ound-
absorbent sponge lini ng on the bodywor k must be removed and
processed as urban r efus e.
