II.5.4
PROTECTING THE UNIT FROM FROST
IMPORTANT !
If the master switch is open, it excludes the
electricit y supply to the plate exchanger resist ance
and the compr essor guard r esistance. This switch
should only be connected for cleaning,
maintenance or r epair of the machine.
When the unit is running, the c ontrol board pr otects the heat-exchanger
from fr eezing by making the anti-freez e al arm c ut in; stoppi ng the
mac hine if the temperature of probe fitted on the heat-exchanger
reaches the set-point val ue.
IMPORTANT !
When the unit is out of service, dr ain all the water
contents from the circuits.
If the dr aining operati on is felt to be too much trouble, ethyl ene glycol
may be mi xed with the water in suitabl e proportions in order to
guarantee protec tion from freezing.
In the c ase of a s mall water flow in the rejecti on exchanger operating as
evaporator, and/or an exc essivel y low inl et temperature, the ST 3 probe
could trigger the antifreez e al arm.
If the mac hine is i nstalled in a glyc ol and water loop, it is possible to
modify the s et-poi nt (using the pass word) on the basis of the
percentage of glyc ol us ed (s ee the table below).
IMPORTANT !
Mixing the wat er with glycol modifies the
performance of the unit.
Table " A" shows the multipliers which allow the changes in performance
of the units to be determi ned in proportion to the required percentage of
ethylene gl ycol.
The multipliers refer to the following conditions: condens er inlet water
temperature 30°C; chilled output water temperature 7°C; temperature
differential at evaporator 5°C. F or different operati ng conditions , the
same coefficients can be used as their variations are negligible.
Maxi mum concentration of ethylene glycol accepted 30%.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS

DANGER !
Always install a general automatic swit ch in a
protected ar ea n ear the appliance with a
characteristic d elayed curve, with sufficient
capacit y and breaking po wer. There should be a
minimum distan ce of 3 mm b et ween the contacts.
Earth connection is compulsor y b y law to ensur e
user safet y while the machine is in use.
DANGER !
Electrical connection of the unit must be car ried out
by qualified per sonnel in compliance with the
regulations in effect in the countr y wh ere the unit is
installed. RHOSS S.p.A. shall not be held liable for
damage to p ersons or propert y cau sed b y incorr ect
electrical connection.
In making the electrical connections to the board,
cables mu st be routed so that they do not touch the
hot parts of the mach ine (compr essor, flo w pip e
and liquid lin e). Protect the wir es from an y
overflow.

The safety door interloc k automaticall y prevents elec tric power being
fed to the unit if the c over panel over the el ectrical panel is opened.
After opening the front panel of the unit, feed the suppl y c ables through
the appropriate cable cl amps in the external panelling and then through
the ducts at the base of the circuit board. The elec trical power supplied
by the single-phase or three-phas e line, must be taken to the main
isolator s witch.
The suppl y c able must be of the flexibl e type, with PVC s heathi ng of no
lighter than H05RN-F: for the sec tion, refer to the table below or the
wiring diagram.

The earth c onductor must be longer than the other conduc tors in order
to ensure that in the event of the cable cl amping devic e becoming
slack, it will be the last to c ome under strain.
II.6.1.1
Remote management using connections set
up by the installer
The connections between board and switc h or remote light must be
made with shiel ded cable c onsisting of 2 twisted 0.5 mm² wires and the
shielding. The shi elding must be connec ted to the earth screw on the
panel (on one side onl y). The maximum permitted distance is 30 m.

SEI -Summer/winter selec tor.
LBG - General loc kout light.
 Remote ON/OFF en abling (SCR)
-16
Remove the ID8 terminal bridge on the elec tronic boar d and c onnect
the wires c omi ng from the remote control ON/OFF selec tor (selector to
be ins talled by the installer).
ATTENTION
 Remote summ er/winter enab lem ent on THHEY (SEI)
Connect the wires c omi ng from the remote summer/winter selec tor on
the ID7 terminal pres ent on the circuit board.
t this point, modify the Rem . Summ er/W inter parameter.
ATTENTION
 LBG remote control
To remotel y c ontrol the signal, c onnect the two lamps according to the
instructions provided in the wiring diagram supplied with the machine
(max. 230 Vac 0.5A AC1).
II.6.1.2
Remote management using accessories
supplied separately
It is possible to remotel y control the entire machi ne by linking a second
keyboard to the one built into the mac hine (KTR acc essor y).
To select the remote c ontrol s ys tem, c ons ult paragraph II.2. The us e
and installation of the remote control s ystems are described i n the
Instruction Sheets provided with the same.
