II.4
INSTALLATION INS TRUCTIONS
DANGER !
Installation must only b e carried out b y skilled
technicians, qu alified for working on air
conditioning and refrig eration systems. Incorr ect
installation could cause the unit to run badly, with a
consequent det erioration in performan ce.
DANGER !
The unit must be in stalled according to nation al or
local rules in force at the tim e of inst allation. The
documentation for accessories supplied loose
included with each kit.
DANGER !
The mach ines ar e designed for indoor in stallation.
Segreg ate the unit if in stalled in areas accessible to
persons under 14 year s of ag e.
DANGER !
Some intern al parts of the unit may cause cuts. Use
suitable individual protection d evices.
If the unit is not fixed to anti-vibration supports (KSA), onc e it has been
set on the ground, it must be solidl y bolted down to the floor using M6
metric threaded bolts. Sl ots are pr ovided in the base for this purpose.
II.4.1
INSTALLATION SI TE REQUIREMENTS
The installation site should be chosen in accordance with the provisions
of Standard EN 378-1 and in keeping with the requirements of Standard
EN 378-3. When s electing the installation site, ris ks posed by accidental
refrigerant leakage from the unit should also be taken into
consideration.
II.4.1.1
Indoor installation
The ser vice rooms destined for the i nstallation of c ooling units must
always be constructed i n compliance with current accident prevention
legislation in the countr y in question.
Servic e rooms are not nor mall y constructed exclusi vel y for the
installation of cooling machines. In many cas es, they may als o hous e
equipment such as burners that run on gas, solid fuel or liquid fuel, with
a consequent incr eas e in ris ks to personal safety.

II.4.2
CLEARANCES AND POSITIONING
IMPORTANT !
Before installing the unit, check the noise limits
permissible in the place in wh ich it will b e used.
IMPORTANT !
The unit should be po sitioned to comply with the
minimum recommend ed clear ances, bear ing in
mind the access to water and electrical
connections.
The unit is envisioned for indoor installation. The unit shoul d be
correctly l evelled and positioned on a supporting surfac e capable of
sustaini ng its full weight. It must not be ins talled on brac kets or shelves.

IMPORTANT !
Incorrect positioning or in stallation of the unit may
amplif y noise levels and vibrations gener ated
during operation.
The followi ng access ories are available to reduc e noise and vibrati on:
KSA - Anti-vi bration mountings.
When ins talling the unit, bear the following in mind:
non-soundproofed reflecting walls near the unit may increase the
total s ound pressure level r eadi ng near the appliance by as much as 3
dB(A) for ever y surface;
install suitable anti-vibration mountings under the unit to avoid
transmitting vibrations to the building struc ture;
make all water connections using elastic joints. Pi pes mus t be firml y
supported by s olid struc tures. If the pipes are routed thr ough walls or
panels, ins ulate with elastic sleeves . If, after installation and s tart-up of
the unit, structural vibrati ons are obser ved in the building, which
provoke suc h strong resonanc e that nois e is generated in other parts of
the building, c ons ult a qualified ac oustic technician for a complete
anal ysis of the probl em.
