Responsibilities of the operator

The operator must ensure that:
applicable industrial safety regulations, professional association
|
regulations and codes of engineering practice are complied with;
the specified photovoltaic system safety equipment is fully functional;
|
a second person is present during all work on live system parts and
|
cables. In the event of an electrical accident, this person must be able
to switch off the electricity supply and provide help;
the transport, assembly, installation, commissioning, maintenance and
|
servicing of the device are only performed by authorised specialist
personnel;
persons commissioned to perform the work can evaluate their
|
assigned tasks and recognise possible risks;
warning instructions on the device which have become illegible are
|
replaced as soon as possible with new, legible warnings;
the device is not operated in the vicinity of flammable, explosive,
|
aggressive, caustic or corrosive substances or gases;
a device is not used if it is defective;
|
no foreign bodies or other components are stored in the device;
|
no unauthorised changes are made to the device;
|
the specifications (see Chapter Specifications, page 71) and operating
|
conditions (see Chapter 4.1, page 23) are adhered to;
modifications and servicing on the device are only carried out by
|
employees from the manufacturer or by personnel authorised by the
manufacturer;
maintenance work is performed on a regular basis;
|
the device is mounted on a non-flammable bracket or surface;
|
an appropriate residual current concept tailored to the specific
|
location, e.g. RCD protection via RCDs (residual current devices) exists
and is implemented;
an adequate lightning protection plan, which is suited to the location,
|
is in place and is applied;
the installation location is selected so that external heat sources and
|
direct sunlight do not additionally heat up the device;
the components connected to the SmartConnect, e.g. central inverter,
|
monitoring system, etc. have been switched off prior to disconnecting
the medium voltage;
the operating manual and, in particular, safety instructions are read and
|
understood by persons commissioned to perform tasks;
