Electronic Journal
The cash register is equipped with an electronic journal
memory that can contain up to 3,000 lines of transaction data.
The Electronic Journal (EJ) stores the receipts and financial
Z1 reports of all the transactions recorded in the REG1 and
REG2 modes, thus allowing you to print this record at any
time, or when memory reaches the nearly full or full condition.
By default your cash register comes with the Electronic
Journal already activated. However if you wish to deactivate
this feature, change the value of system option 26 to 1 as
indicated in the related section of this Guide.
You can display the number of transaction lines still available
in electronic journal memory by pressing the [Qty/Time/DW]
key twice outside of a transaction (REG mode).
When the electronic journal reaches a nearly full condition,
there are less than 500 lines remaining in journal memory and
a 2-second warning beep will sound at the beginning and end
of each transaction performed. A line also appears at the far
right-hand side of the display. In this condition, press the [C]
key and continue your transaction. Then either print the
contents of the electronic journal, as explained below, or
continue with further transactions.
When the journal reaches a full condition, less than 150 lines
are remaining in memory. The message "EJ FULL" is dis-
played along with a 2-second warning beep at the beginning
of a transaction. A line also appears at the far right-hand side
of the display. In this condition, press the [C] key and
continue your transaction. Then either print the contents of
the electronic journal, as explained below, or continue with
further transactions; bear in mind, however, that the transac-
tion data will NOT be stored in memory and the consecutive
receipt counter will not increase.
Printing the Contents of the Electronic Journal
To print and clear the contents of the electronic journal
memory therefore resetting it to its maximum 3,000 line
capacity, proceed as follows:
1. Slide the control switch to the Z position and make sure
that plenty of paper is loaded in the printer.
2. Press the [Sub Total] key.
When the contents of the electronic journal are printed, the
message "CL" is displayed along with a 2-second beep to
indicate that the EJ memory capacity has been restored to
3,000 lines.
NOTE: You can also print the contents of the electronic
journal with the control switch in the X position; doing so,
however, will not clear the electronic memory.
