clean the Smart Guard System 11 with a rag or
a brush.
Anti-Kickback Device Maintenance
(Fig. 95)
Make sure the teeth of the anti-kickback device
are always sharp. To sharpen:
1. Remove anti-kickback device from riving
knife.
2. Rotate one pawl away from the other.
3. Hold pawl over corner of workbench.
4. Using a small round file (Smooth Cut) sharp-
en the teeth.

Hook-Up

Do not operate saw without
properly
Port/Vacuum Hook-Up. Missing or improperly
installed chute can allow access to saw blade
and result in property damage or personal inju-
ry.
Thin cut-offs may fall through the Table Insert 12
and accumulate in the Dust Port/Vacuum Hook-
Up 19 preventing dust extraction. The Dust
Port/Vacuum Hook-Up 19 is removable to allow
clearing out of any dust and cut off buildup. To
clear out the Dust Chute:
1. Loosen the Dust Port/Vacuum Hook-Up Re-
taining Screw 115.

2. Remove the Dust Port/Vacuum Hook-Up 19
by sliding it away from the tool.
3. Clear any debris from the Dust Port/Vacuum
Hook-Up 19 and inside of the blade enclo-
sure.
4. Reattach the Dust Port/Vacuum Hook-Up 19,
and secure it with the Dust Port Retainer
Screw 115.
