Selecting and Changing the Blade
To avoid possible injury, dis-
connect the Battery Pack
before changing blades.
Using the Correct Blade
(Fig. 16)
IMPORTANT: The saw Blade provided on this
tool has a carbide-tipped kerf width of 0.075"
(1.9 mm) and a blade body plate thickness of
0.067" (1.7 mm). When looking for a replace-
ment blade, select one with dimensions close to
the original blade. This information may not be
printed on the blade's packaging. If not, check
the manufacturer's catalog or website. Bosch of-
fers an extensive line of Premium-Quality Profes-
sional Saw Blades that match the requirements
for this tool. You must select a blade with a kerf
width of 0.075" (1.9 mm) or more and a blade
body plate thickness of 0.067" (1.7 mm) or less.
To reduce the risk of injury,
do not use extra thin kerf
saw blades. The kerf of the blade must be wider
than 0.075" (1.9 mm). Extra thin saw blades
with a kerf width less than 0.075" (1.9 mm) may
cause the work piece to bind against the Riving
Knife during cutting. It is recommended that the
kerf of the replacement blade used on this saw
be 0.075" (1.9 mm) or more.
To reduce the risk of injury,
do not use saw blades made
with a thick body plate. If the replacement saw
blade body plate's thickness is greater than
0.067" (1.7 mm), the Riving Knife would not
properly serve as an aid to reduce kickback. The
replacement blade body plate's thickness must
be 0.067" (1.7 mm) or less.
To reduce the risk of injury,
do not use blade "dampen-
ers," "stabilizers," or "stiffening collars" on
both sides of a replacement blade. These are
metal plates positioned against the sides of the
blade to reduce deflection that may occur when
using thin saw blades. Use of these devices on
both sides will prevent the blade from being
properly aligned with the Riving Knife, which
may bind the work piece during cutting. One
"stabilizer" plate may be placed only against the
outside of a thin replacement blade. These
plates are not required with the supplied Bosch
Blade.

Changing the Blade
(Fig. 1, Fig. 17, Fig. 18, Fig. 19)
Blade tips can cause personal injury.
1. Turn the Elevation Wheel 2 clockwise until
the Blade 32 is up as high as it will go.
2. Remove the Table Insert 12. See "Removing
the Table Insert" on page 18.
3. Lift up the Arbor Lock Lever 51
slowly rotate the Blade 32 by hand until the
lock fully engages the saw's Arbor Shaft 52
and stops rotation.
4. Loosen the Arbor Nut 53 counterclockwise
with the Blade Wrench 27 provided.
5. Set the Blade Wrench 27 aside, continue
to loosen the Arbor Nut 53 by hand, and re-
move the Arbor Nut 53 and Outer Washer 54.
The Blade 32 may now be removed by sliding
it off the Arbor Shaft 52, leaving the Inner
Washer 55 on the Arbor Shaft 52.
6. Install the new Blade 32 on the Arbor Shaft
52, MAKING CERTAIN THE TEETH OF THE
BLADE 32 ARE POINTING DOWN AT THE
FRONT OF THE TABLE 13.
NOTE: Different saw blades have the print-
ing on different sides.
7. Install the Outer Washer 54 and Arbor Nut
53.
8. Lift up the Arbor Lock Lever 51, and securely
tighten the Arbor Nut 53 clockwise
the Blade Wrench 27.
9. Reinstall and secure the Table Insert 12. See
"Installing the Table Insert" on page 18.
