in placing tool
Worn or damaged hydraulic sea-
ling surfaces in placing tool
Pump internal/external oil leak
Operator not pushing nose
completely onto fastener pintail
before operating tool
Incorrect fastener length / grip
length
Worn or damaged jaw segments
Debris in jaw segments and/or
pintail grooves
Excessive sheet gap
Improper tool operation
Worn Anvil bore
Incorrect assembly of nose equi-
pment
Restriction in hydraulic line
High ambient temperature
Worn O-Ring in body of Quick

REMEDY
Check Quick Couplers 9 and 10 for full
engagement and/or fault
Check for correct connections at
pump and placing tool
Refer to pump instruction manual
Adjust Return Timer to recommended
setting – refer to pump instruction
manual
Adjust return pressure relief valve
to correct setting – refer to pump
instruction manual
Refer to pump instruction manual
Inspect placing tool – replace worn or
damaged seals
