for any work involving risk).
Before installation you must refer to the installation manual, if you
do not have it, you can get a copy from Tractel
To disassembly:
• 1 set of spanners for disassembling the fixings.
5.2 Safety Recommendations and Preliminary
checks before installing
"IMPORTANT":
When installing or removing the anchor post, the user will take the
labour laws of their country into consideration. A risk analysis
should be carried out and implemented in order to best preserve
the health and safety of installers. In all cases all operators in risk
of falling must be equipped with Personal Protective Equipment
manufactured in accordance with Directive 89/686/EEC, and used
in compliance with Directive 89/656/EEC.
For handling and storage of posts at a height, whether a new site
or under renovation, the user must consider the legislation in their
country.
If the installer is not the prime contractor, it must obtain this manual,
and ensure that it addresses all the points listed above.
More specifically, it should ensure the inclusion of local regulations
and standards applicable to anchor posts.
Installation of the anchor post must comply with the preliminary
study submitted to the installer.
The installation must also be preceded by a visual inspection of
the site by the installer, who will verify that the site configuration is
consistent with that taken into account in the preliminary study.
The installer must have the necessary skills to carry out the
installation of the anchor post in compliance with the preliminary
study and the instructions in this manual.
Prior to the achieving this work, the installer must organize its
site so that work is carried out in compliance with safety
requirements, particularly in terms of labour regulations. It will set
up the individual or collective protection required for that purpose.
"IMPORTANT":
The installer must ensure that the roof can support the weight of
the posts and the weight of the operators. It must ensure that the
roof can accommodate the weight of the pallets during storage
prior to installation of the posts.
During installation and handling of the posts the installer must
ensure the environmental protection of the site.
• Protect the anchor post from all contact with electric cables.
• Protect piping from any contact with the anchor post.
• Protect seals from any risk of perforation due to handling loads or
installing the anchor post.
• Do not block the emergency access.
• Protect the immediate environment of the site using appropriate
barriers when handling or installing anchor posts.
The installer should start by making an inventory of the parts
received, and verify that the contents of the delivery include all the
components of the anchor posts to be installed, based on the
preliminary study file. The installer should then verify the presence
of the tools required as indicated in this manual.
"IMPORTANT":

transport them to the roof. The installer must provide a pallet
location drawing for the terrace in question, in order to avoid
any damage to it. The provision of appropriate slings and pallet
handling is the responsibility of the user or installer.
5.3 Installation, signalling and verification
5.3.1 Installing the anchor post
1. Distribute the pallets on the terrace roof as on the layout drawing
prepared by the installer. Observe the maximum permissible
load for the terrace roof, and in particular the sealing complex.
If necessary, use load balancers (not provided by Tractel
2. Working on the technical file of the preliminary study, position
the posts on the roof.
If the implementation of the post requires opening the
sealing complex to access the structure of the building, you
must call on a professional to guarantee the sealing work.
3. Be careful not to block rainwater evacuation or access points on
the terrace.
4. Depending on the post host structure, use appropriate fixings.
5. Position your post. It is essential for the safety of users that the
anchor post is always positioned properly to minimise the risk
of falling and the height of the fall. It is essential to safety to
check the space required under the user on the workplace
before each installation, so that in case of a fall, there is no
obstacle in the path of the fall or collision with the ground.
6. Drill the structure in compliance with the size of the post
bracket and the technical documentation post implementation.
For concrete structures, we recommend a minimum resistance
to traction at each fixation in line with tables 1/2/3 of this manual
in compliance with the maximum dynamic load generated during
a fall. Keep strictly to the instructions of the preliminary study
and the manufacturer's recommendations on means of fixing.
For assemblies on metal structures, washers are mandatory,
corresponding to the diameter of the fixings. These washers must
be placed under the head of the screw and / or under the bolt
before tightening depending on the type of installation.
