1224 Pipe and Bolt Threading Machine
WARNING
Clothing/gloves can be caught in moving parts.
Fingers, hands, arms or other body parts can be
crushed or broken.
• Use foot switch.
• Do not wear gloves.
• Keep sleeves and jacket buttoned.
• Do not reach across machine because clothing can
be drawn into moving parts.
• Operate machine from switch side only.
• Do not block or disconnect foot switch.
• Keep foot switch in working order.
• Make sure switch is in the OFF position before plug-
ging in power cord.
• Make sure you can quickly remove your foot from the
foot switch.
• Keep hands away from rotating pipe and fittings.
Stop machine when screwing fittings on pipe or wip-
ing thread.
• Use of this machine to tighten or remove fittings in-
creases risk of injury.

Threading Machine Safety

1. Machine is made to thread and cut pipe or bolt.
Follow instructions in Operator's Manual on ma-
chine uses. Other uses may increase the risk of injury.
2. Secure machine to bench or stand. Will keep the
machine from tipping over.
3. Keep covers in place. Do not operate the ma-
chine with covers removed. Exposure to moving
parts may result in entanglement and serious injury.
4. Support long heavy pipe with pipe supports. Will
prevent tipping of the machine.
5. Do not wear gloves or loose clothing. Keep
sleeves and jackets buttoned. Do not reach across

Description
The RIDGID Model 1224 Pipe and Bolt Threading
Machine is an electric, motor-driven machine that centers
and chucks the pipe and rotates it while cutting, reaming
and threading operations are performed. Left-hand or
right-hand rotation can be selected with the REV/OFF/FOR
switch. Threading dies are mounted in a Self-Opening Die
Head. An integral oiling system is provided to flood the
work with thread cutting oil during the threading operations.
