13.2 Welding of sheet of stainless steel
For welding this material, referred to the previous tables (iron), but it is necessary to increase the electrode force by
40% and to decrease the welding current by 20 – 30 %
13.3 Welding of sheet of zinc coated
For welding this material, referred to the previous tables (iron), but it is necessary to increase the electrode force by
30% and the welding current by 20 – 30 %.
13.4 Grates welding
The number of simultaneous weldable crossings depends on the machine power, the wire diameter and the distance
between crossings.
The following table indicates the setting values for single joints. Weld penetration depth is e=6% (a weld penetration
depth of 6% produces a weld area which corresponds approximately to the wire cross section).
diameter d
The wires must be straight and sized. Put the wires into a fixture, which holds them positioned while welding. The
fixture should be made of insulating or nonmagnetic matter.
Move the fixture under the bar electrode to weld the number of simultaneous crossings that the electrode length and
the machine power allow.
