12.1 Trouble shooting ZT-NKLT
Defect
• By pushing the cycle starting contact the pilot
light doesn't turn on and the machine doesn't
weld
• The electrodes spark when they are in contact
• Welding time never stops
• Without closing the cycle starting contact there
is voltage on the electrodes
• Changes in welding current or time
• During welding the machine hums and mains
fuses blow
12.2 Trouble shooting ZP-NKLP
Defect
• By pushing the cycle starting contact the cycle
doesn't start and the electrode doesn't descend
• Solenoid valve does not work
• No welding current although all motions are
correct. The LED CURRENT is off.
• Error message Ert
• The electrodes spark when they are in
contact
• Welding time never stops
• Without closing the cycle starting contact there
is voltage on the electrodes
• During welding the machine hums and mains
fuses blow
• After welding the electrode moves back without
delay and sparks
• The ancillary transformer overheats and burns
Cause
• Limit switch (pos. I, fig. 1) doesn't close
• Interrupted transformer
• Faulty card circuit
• Squeeze time too short, insufficient welding
force
• Interrupted welding potentiometer or detached
wire
• Faulty electronic circuit
• After removing the 10-terminal connector, the
defect remains
• After removing the 10-terminal connector, the
defect disappears
• Oxidised electrodes or secondary circuit
• Faulty limit switch (pos. I, fig. 1)
• Faulty working of a thyristor (SCR)
• Faulty electronic card
Cause
• Starting contact doesn't close
• Short-circuited solenoid valve winding or
blown fuse
• Faulty electronic card
• Faulty electronic card
• Weld / no weld switch
• Intervention of the SCR thermostat
• Squeeze time too short
• Faulty cylinder
• Faulty electronic circuit
• Faulty SCR-group
• Faulty SCR thyristors
• Faulty SCR ignition circuit
• Hold time too short
• Erroneous feeding voltage
• Faulty transformer
Remedy
• Remove the current and check if there is a
closure between contacts 2 and 11 of the X2
18-terminal connector
• Check the voltage
• Replace it
• Increase squeeze time and welding force
• Replace it or connect the wire
• Replace it
• Replace SCR-group
• Replace the electronic card
• Clean them
• Replace it
• Replace it
• Replace it
Remedy
• Check the 18-terminal connector to see if
there is a closure between clamps 2 – 11
(pedal A) and 3 – 11 (pedal B)
• Remove the wires from the
electromagnetic valve and check
that the voltage is 24 Vdc.
• Replace
• Replace
• Check if it is set on weld (yellow LED must be
on)
• Check that the inlet water temperature does
not exceed 25°C.Wait for thermostat reset.
• Increase squeeze time
• Check cylinder gasket
• Replace electronic card
• Replace
• Replace the SCR-group
• Check ignition circuit
• Increase hold time
• Check
• Replace
