7.2 Pneumatic connection (ZP - NKLP)
Connect the compressed air hose to the connection (pos.
D, fig. 2). We suggest to mount on the air inlet a filter that
removes moisture.
7.3 Connection to the cooling circuit
Connect two hoses to the connections marked with
"WATER INLET" and "WATER OUTLET" and to the water
line (section 18).
Use only water free from harmful chemicals which could
damage the parts it goes through. Pressure must be
between 2.5 and 4 bar, temperature between 15° and 25°C
and the minimum flow 4 l/min.

Electronic control (fig. 3)
The built-in electronic control unit has been specially
developed for single-phase resistance welding machines
and provides through a microprocessor to govern all
operating functions included welding current regulation.
You can easily set-up all control parameters according to
the work to be done.

8.1 Main features

• Synchronous thyristorised (SCR) control unit;
• Automatical mains voltage compensation;
• 2 welding programs (2-pedal version);
• Slope-up time of welding current;
• Welding time;
• Single or repeat spot welding;
• Control of one solenoid valve 24 V dc;
• Weld / No weld switch;
• Error messages;
• Automatic 50/60 Hz recognition.

8.2 Welding cycle (ZT-NKLT)
By pressing the foot pedal starts the welding cycle
consisting in the following steps:
Time
Electrode force F [N]
Welding current i [A]
Welding parameters
When the mechanical pedal is pressed, the spindle com-
presses the spring that determines the force on the elec-
trodes and closes the electrical contact of the micro-
switch to start the welding. The welding will continue for
the time indicated (set the approach time to zero. The
upslope time, if different from zero, will be included in the
welding time.)

SQUEEZE TIME
WELDING TIME
1. SQUEEZE TIME - (VHZ) Time intervals between
electrode descent and welding current flow, needed to
reach the necessary electrode force.
NOTE: The release of foot pedal during squeeze time
causes welding cycle reset.
NOTE: By welding machines with double-contact foot
pedal it is possible to approach the electrode to the
workpiece and then decide whether to continue the welding
cycle or to abort it. By releasing the foot pedal the electrode
goes back to its startpoint. By pressing the foot
pedal to the end, the second contact closes, the
LED (section 8.5.1) goes on and the welding cycle
continues. Any customised machine equipped with
double-contact foot pedal can operate as described.
2. WELDING TIME - (SZ) This parameter represents the
duration of every single current pulse (section 8.5.3).
3. HOLD TIME - (NHZ) The time at the end of welding
current flow before electrode return, in which the
electrode force is kept on the workpiece so that the
weld can cool and strengthen.
4. REST TIME – (OHZ) The elapsed time between a
welding cycle and the next one when the machine
operates in repeat spot welding mode (section 8.5.3).
The machine operates a series of welding cycles in
sequence as long as the cycle starting contact (foot
pedal) is kept closed. Otherwise, when the machine
is in single spot (section 8.5.3), it operates a single
welding cycle every time the foot pedal is pressed.
