Picus S3 tillåter både direkt infästning av diamantkärnborrkronor med
innergänga UNC 1¼ och även med yttergänga G ½. Vid drivmaskinerna
Picus S1 och Picus S3 är vattentilloppsanordningen (15) inte monterad
i leveranstillståndet utan bifogad. Infästningen för vattenanslutningen till
drivmaskinerna är stängd med ett lock (14). I detta tillstånd är drivmas-
kinerna (REMS Picus S1, REMS Picus S3) användbara till torrborrning.
Vid REMS Picus S2/3,5 är vattentilloppsanordningen redan förmon-
terad. Våtborrning, se 2.5.
Drivmaskinens varvtal för ekonomisk kärnborrning beror på diamant-
kärnborrkronans diameter. Välj varvtal för drivmaskinen så att diamant-
kärnborrkronans periferihastighet (skärhastighet) ligger i ett område på
2 till 4 m/s vid borrning i stålbetong. Du kan givetvis även borra utanför
detta optimala område, men då måste du ha ett medgivande för ar-
betshastigheten och/eller diamantkärnborrkronornas livslängd. För mur-
verk gäller högre periferihastigheter.
