1 Connect he barcode scanner to the monitor's USB port.
2 If the scanner is connected for the first time, the monitor will pop up a confirmation message to ask
user whether the new USB device is added as scanner. Choose Yes to add as scanner, choose No to
add as USB device. In order to correctly read and input barcode information, set the barcode scanner
for USB PC keyboard. Take Honeywell Xenon 1900 barcode scanner as an example, it's required the
user to scan the following barcode before connecting the barcode scanner to the monitor.
3 Select Menu > User Maintain and enter the required password to define the barcode in Common >
Barcode Setup. Set the start and end codes before using scanner to update patient according to the
barcode rules, thus the barcode can be read correctly. After setting start and end codes, user should
also set male code and female code to distinguish the gender.
4 Refer to Section Admit by barcode for admitting patients by barcode scanner.
In addition, check relevant scanner information or delete specific barcode scanner in Common > Scanner
Management.
Monitoring mode
Admitting a patient
To admit a patient:
3 Enter the patient information:
 First Name: Enter the patient's first name. Select Menu > User Maintain > Common to set the
Name Display format.
 2nd Patient ID, 2nd First Name, 2nd Last Name: Enter the additional information of the patient.
Alarm review
NOTE
When the alarm system is powered down, the log is maintained. The time of powering down will not be
recorded in the system log.
NOTE
A total loss of power has no impact on the stored log.
