Warning-Score system
Click Menu > User Maintain > EWS Type to select the desired score system according to the patient type.
User can use warning-score system to get an early warning score based on measurement value or input
value of each vital sign. Warning-score system includes EWS (Early Warning Score), MEWS (Modified
Early Warning Score), NEWS (National Early Warning Score), NEWS2 (National Early Warning Score 2),
and PEWS (Pediatric Early Warning Score), which are mutual excluded. That is, only one system can be
used at the same time. Depending on the score calculated, appropriate recommendations are displayed.
MEWS, NEWS and NEWS2 are intended for adult patients only. PEWS is intended for pediatric patients
only.
NOTE
EWS, MEWS, NEWS, NEWS2 and PEWS are not available in USA.
NOTE
The score results are for reference only and the score significance must be determined by the physician.
Accessing/Exiting Warning-Score interface
Access the score interface in any of the following ways:
– Click Score shortcut key
– Select Menu > Score.
Click Score shortcut key or
 If selected Method is Score Calculator, the monitor will not only exit this interface, but also this
function;
 If selected Method is Auto Score, the monitor will only exit this interface, but the function is still
running in the background.
The monitor exits warning score function in any of the conditions:
1 The monitor is powered off.
2 The monitor enters Standby mode or Demo mode.
3 The monitor admits new patient.
4 Change the patient type.

Cause
The early warning score is above the upper limit.
