Aligning the Rip Fence – Left Black

(Fig. 1, Fig. 41, Fig. 42)
NOTE: Before proceeding with alignment of the Rip
Fence 9, the Blade 31 must be parallel with the
Miter Gauge Slots 69 and be perpendicular to the
Table 13. See "Adjusting the Blade Parallel to the
Miter Gauge Slots" on page 31 and "Adjusting 0°
Positive Stop" on page 37.
1. Remove the Smart Guard System's 11 Barrier
Guard Assembly 26 and Anti-Kickback Device
27.
2. Assemble the Rip Fence 9 to the Left Black In-
dex Pins 56. (See "Attaching the Rip Fence" on
page 21.) Make sure to orient the Rip Fence
9 so that the Flip-Over Fence 13 is facing
away from the Blade 31.
3. Move the Rip Fence toward the Blade and verify
that the Rip Fence 9 is touching the blade teeth
at the front and rear of the Blade 31. If not,
then continue with the following steps.
4. With the provided Hex Wrench 32, loosen the
Left Black Rip Fence Index Pins 56 on the front
and back Rails 10 about 1/2 to 1 turn so that
the Pins can slide freely.
5. Slide the Rip Fence 9 towards the Blade 31 un-
til the Rip Fence 9 touches the blade teeth at
the front and back of the Blade 31.
6. Hand tighten the front and back Left Black
Rip Fence Index Pins 56. Rotate an additional
1/8 turn to secure the Pins. Verify that the Rip
Fence 9 is still in contact with the front and
back teeth of the Blade 31.
7. Latch the Rip Fence Lock Levers 55 onto the
Rails 10, and verify that the Rip Fence 9 is still
in contact with the blade teeth at the front and
rear of the Blade 31.
8. Replace the Smart Guard System's 11 Barrier
Guard Assembly 26 and Anti-Kickback Device
27.
Rip Fence Pointer Adjustment
(Fig. 41, Fig. 42)
When ripping on the right side of the Blade 31,
the distance between the Rip Fence 9 body and
the Blade 31 is determined by lining the Rip Fence
Pointer 76 with the desired dimension on the Rip
Fence Scale 23.
