Adjusting the Blade Parallel to the
Miter Gauge Slots
(Fig. 1, Fig. 37, Fig. 38, Fig. 39)
The Blade 31 was adjusted parallel to the Miter
Gauge Slots 69 at the factory. In order to ensure ac-
curate cuts and help prevent kickback, this adjust-
ment should be rechecked. If adjustment is neces-
sary, follow the steps below.
1. Turn the Elevation Wheel 2, and raise the Blade
31 as high as it will go.
2. Select a point on the body of the saw Blade 31
that is on the left side of the Blade 31 when
viewing the Blade 31 from the front of the saw,
and mark this point with a pencil.
3. Place the base of a combination square against
the edge of the Miter Gauge Slot 69, and ex-
tend the sliding rule of the square so it just
touches the marked point on the body of the
saw Blade 31 at the rear of the Table 13, avoid-
ing the blade teeth.
4. Rotate the Blade 31 and check the same marked
point of the saw Blade 31 at the front of the
Table 13.
5. If the front and back measurements are not
identical use the Hex Wrench 32 supplied with
your saw to loosen the four Blade Alignment
Bolts 70 located on the underside of the Table
13 at the front and rear of the saw.
6. Carefully move the saw Blade 31 until it is par-
allel to the Miter Gauge Slot 69, and securely
tighten all four Blade Alignment Bolts 70.
7. Verify that the Blade 31 is parallel to the Miter
Gauge Slot 69 by repeating steps 3 and 4. If the
Blade 31 is not aligned, repeat steps 5 and 6.
