Fiber cutter
Clean the fiber cutter in theultrasonic bath or with a suitable brush under
running water.
7.2
Disinfection
Disinfect the following parts by spray or wipe disinfection:
Optical fiber
Fiber cutter
Finger switch
Take-up reel
SIROLaser (wipe disinfection only)

NOTICE
Use only disinfectants that comply with the requirements of your national au-
thorities and whose bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal properties have been
tested and properly certified.
You can use for instance: MinutenSpray classic from Alpro; MinutenWipes
from Alpro. In the USA: Cavicide
Observe the instructions provided by the manufacturers of these disinfec-
tants.
CAUTION
The optical fiber may be damaged if it is seriously bent or improperly routed in-
side the handpiece. This may constitute a health hazard for patients, dentists
and dental assistants. The minimum bending radius of the optical fiber is 4.5
cm (diameter: 9 cm). Be careful not to pinch or tear the optical fiber when in-
serting or cleaning it.
7.3
Sterilization
WARNING
The handpiece and reusable tips must be sterilized prior to initial use and be-
fore each subsequent use.

NOTICE
Remove any possible water residues from the handpiece, the fiber cutter and
the reusable tips.
The disassembled handpiece and the reusable tips may be sterilized only
in an autoclave with saturated water vapor at 135°C (275°F),
3 min. holding time and 2.13 bar (33.88 psi) overpressure.
