Specific safety instructions
DANGER!
Carbon monoxide poisoning can lead to death!
This is a direct-fired diesel radiant heater. It is primarily
intended for temporary heating of buildings under
construction, reconstruction or repair.
16
Direct-fired means that all combustion products of the
heater enter and spread directly into the heated room.
This appliance has a combustion efficiency of 98 %, but
still produces a small amount of carbon monoxide. Car-
bon monoxide is toxic.
Humans can only tolerate small amounts of carbon
monoxide, which is why it is essential to ensure suffi-
cient ventilation.
Persons with breathing problems should consult a doc-
tor before using the heater. Failure to provide proper
ventilation in accordance with these instructions may
result in death!
The first signs of carbon monoxide poisoning are simi-
lar to those of flu. Symptoms that may occur with im-
proper ventilation are: Headache, dizziness, burning in
the nose and eyes, nausea, dry mouth, sore throat.
If the heater is used in the presence of other people,
you must inform them of all correct and important sa-
fety precautions, operating procedures and hazards.
Some people are more affected by carbon monoxide
than others. These include pregnant women, people
with heart or lung disease or anaemia, people under
the influence of alcohol or when using the device at
high altitudes.
Check the appliance thoroughly for damage before
each use. Do NOT operate a damaged heater.
DO NOT modify this heater or operate a heater that has

keep children and animals away from it.
Keep the area around the heater free from flammable
materials such as gas, oil, paint thinner and other flam-
mable vapours and liquids. Dust is flammable. Do not
use the heater in areas with high dust concentration.
The inlet (rear) and outlet (front) of the heater must not
be narrowed. The heater must never be used with an
air ducting system (pipes/hoses etc.).
