1 Foreword

The ZEN-X / ZEN-Xi digital system has been developed to simplify the entire intraoral x-ray acquisition procedure and
display the images on a computer screen. Thanks to the new ergonomic design, MyRay
positioning. The smoothed edges and rounded corners comfortably adapt to the shape of the patient's mouth, allowing
them to be easily positioned. MyRay sensors are available in two interchangeable sizes to satisfy various diagnostic
requirements.
The ZEN-X / ZEN-Xi electronic module is compatible with the extremely fast USB 2.0 standard, thereby cutting down
the time that elapses between x-ray exposure and display of the image on the computer screen to a few seconds.
The product is available in two versions that adopt the same technology but differ for the appropriate application:
- Zen-X is designed as a portable device;
- Zen-Xi is constructed to be integrated in dental units that are mechanically compatible.
In Zen-X, the USB connection makes the system convenient and portable. In fact, no power supply adapters are need-
ed as power is fed directly through the USB port thanks to the low consumption requirements. The handheld control
can be easily moved from one room to another and from a desktop computer to a notebook.
In Zen-Xi, the x-ray sensor is placed on-board the dental unit like any other instrument on the instrument board. S
A computer and program to view x-ray images are required for use of both versions. If used in conjunction with a dental
office practice management software, the x-ray images can be associated to each patient and saved for processing
and viewing when required.
The ZEN-X / ZEN-Xi system utilizes a communication standard called TWAIN

Regardless of the selected program, whether it is iRYS produced by MyRay or another third party program, refer to the
manual supplied together with the program for all the warnings, precautions and operating instructions.
ZEN-X / ZEN-Xi is supplied together with software called iCapture, that assures the x-ray images are correctly trans-
ferred from the electronic module to the computer.

This User's manual refers to both the Zen-X and Zen-Xi systems, providing specific details only when there are differ-
ences between the two versions.
The manual refers to a "computer", Personal Computer, "work post", WorkStation or WS indifferently.

2 General information

Pay special attention to the sections of the manual in which the indicated symbols appear:
Warnings regarding operator or patient safety
Warnings regarding risk of product damage or failure to operate, important warnings regarding
the warranty.
The ZEN-X / ZEN-Xi system and relative iCapture software are developed and produced by Cefla S.C. - Cefla Dental
Group, Imola (IT), herein referred to as the Manufacturer.
The instructions inform the user on how to properly operate the ZEN-X / ZEN-Xi system. As
regards the iCapture software instructions, consult the specific manual. Carefully read both
manuals before attempting to use the sensor and program.
In order to use the ZEN-X / ZEN-Xi system, software for capturing and saving the images is needed that is not part of
the ZEN-X / ZEN-Xi system. Consult the relative manual for information about installation and use of the image man-
agement software.
