Vehicle code mode

The ACS 500 has a database, in which all
known vehicle types and their A/C systems
are stored under a 2-digit code number. This
code number stores the vacuum time and
the quantity of refrigerant to be added to the
vehicle A/C system. The oil extracted in the
recycling phase and the standard oil quantity
(10ml) are fed back to the A/C system during
the oil injection phase. The code numbers
are listed in the data manual 1 689 979 939.
i
Before starting the process, refer to section
6.2 "Preparations for A/C service"
The code can be found in the data manual
supplied (e. g. 03).
After entering the code number, in "Vehicle
code" mode all phases are automatically exe-
cuted in sequence.
i
Before feeding the refrigerant oil and the UV
contrast medium into the vehicle A/C system,
check whether the end of the intake hoses
reaches right to the bottom of the fresh oil
reservoir and the UV contrast medium re-
servoir.
!
Before each UV contrast medium injection,
it is essential to check whether a leak test
using UV contrast medium is approved for
the vehicle A/C system. If UV injection is not
approved, the A/C service must be performed
in "Automatic" or "Manual" modes. In these
modes, UV injection can be deactivated.
At the end of the vehicle code process, the
valves on the HP/LP quick release couplings
are closed anticlockwise and disconnected
from the service connections on the vehicle
A/C system.

Manual mode

This mode is appropriate for manually servi-
cing vehicle A/C systems after repair work.
In this mode, each individual phase must
be manually selected, the parameters (e. g.
refrigerant quantity, oil quantity, UV quantity)
must be set and the phase started. No values
less than 5 ml can be entered.
i
Before starting the process, refer to section
6.2 "Preparations for A/C service"
6.6.1

Recovery/recycling phase

In the recycling phase, the duration for the
pressure increase test can be entered (de-
fault value: 1 minute).
6.6.2

Vacuum phase

In the vacuum phase, the duration (default
value: 20 minutes)
fault value: 4 minutes) can be entered.
(*) The vacuum time of 20 minutes is a recommended
standard value and is independent of the volume of
the refrigeration circuit in the vehicle A/C system.
This value should be used if the repair manual does
not specify an exact vacuum time.
