Using the System

USING THE STATUS BAR

The Status Bar gives you access to different modes and functions of the system.
To open the Status Bar:
• Press the SETUP button on the remote control or front panel
OR
• Move the mouse
By default, login is required when opening menus on the system. If desired, you can

1. Power: Log off the current user or power off the system.

2. Date & Time: Shows the current date and time of the system.
3. SETUP: Opens the system menu (System Setup, Record Setup). For details, see "Using the
System Menu" on page 53.
4. ARCHIVE: Opens the Archive (Back up) menu. For details, see "Archiving" on page 45.
5. SEARCH: Opens the Search menu. For details, see "Search" on page 40.
6. DISPLAY: Opens the pop-up display window, which allows you to select up to six display
modes as well as enable/disable Auto Sequence. For details, see "Changing Display Modes"
on page 31.
7. PTZ: Opens the PTZ control window. For details, see "PTZ" on page 34.
8. ZOOM: Starts/stops zoom mode for a selected channel. For details, see "ZOOM" on page 35.
9. LOG: Opens the Log File menu. For details, see "ZOOM" on page 35.
10. REC: Starts/stops Panic Recording Mode. For details, see "Panic Recording" on page 39.
11. Network Status: Shows the status of the network connection. A "X" between the two icons
indicates there is no network connection (see figure 5.3).
12. HDD Status: "OW" indicates disk overwrite is enabled. If Overwrite is disabled, a percentage
indicates how much hard drive space is currently being used. For example, if the Status Bar
displays "3%", it means that 3% of the hard drive is being used, with 97% free space.
