Yearly appliance check and
servicing.
The following checks and maintenance should be performed at least once
a year.
- Clean the fume side of the heat exchanger.
- Clean the main burner.
- Visually check the fume extractor hood for deterioration or corrosion.
- Check correct ignition and operation.
- Check correct burner setting in domestic hot water and heating phas-
es.
- Check correct operation of the appliance control and adjustment devices,
and in particular:
- activation of the main electrical switch located outside the boiler;
- activation of the system control thermostat;
- activation of the domestic circuit control thermostat.
- Check the tightness of the internal system, according to the indications
provided by the standard.
- Check activation of the ionisation flame control protection device;
activation time must be less than 10 seconds.
- Visually inspect to check for water leaks or oxidation on connections.
- Visually check that the water safety valve drain is not blocked.

N.B.: The pressures given in the table represent the pressure differences exist-
ing between the gas valve outlet and the combustion chamber. Adjustments
must therefore carried out with the differential pressure gauge ("U" or digital
type) with the sensors inserted in the test pressure outlet of the modulating
adjustable gas valve and on the sealed chamber positive pressure test outlet.
The power data given in the table is obtained with intake/exhaust pipe of
length 0.5 m. Gas flowrates refer to heating power below a temperature of
15°C and at a pressure of 1013 mbar. Burner pressure values refer to use
of gas at 15°C.

- Make sure that, after discharging system pressure and bringing it to the
zero (read on boiler pressure gauge), the expansion tank charge is 1.0
bar.
- Check that the system static pressure (with system cold and after system
recharging by means of the filler cock) is between 1 and 1.2 bar.
- Visually check that the safety and control devices have not been tampered
with and/or shorted, and in particular:
- temperature safety thermostat;
- water pressure switch;
- air pressure switch.
- Check the good condition and integrity of the electrical system, and in
particular:
- electrical power cables must be inside the glands;
- there must be no traces of blackening or burning.
