Water connections must be made in a rational way using the couplings on
the boiler template. The boiler safety valve outlet must be connected to a
special runoff. Otherwise, the manufacturer declines any responsibility in
case of flooding if the drain valve cuts in.
Important: to preserve the life and efficiency of the rapid-type exchanger, it
is advisable to install the "polyphosphate proportioner" kit in the presence of
water that can give rise scale (in particular, the kit is recommended when water
hardness is higher than 25 degrees French).
Electrical connection. The entire Eolo Star 23 kW boiler has IPX4D
protection rating. Electrical safety of the unit is guaranteed when correctly
connected to an efficient earthing system as specified by current safety
standards.
Important: Immergas S.p.A. declines any responsibility for damage to
persons or things caused by failure to connect the boiler to an earthing
system or non-compliance with the reference standards.
Also ensure that the electrical installation corresponds to the maximum
absorbed power specified on the boiler dataplate.
Boilers are supplied complete with an "X" type power cable without plug.
The power cable must be connected to a 230V ±10% / 50Hz mains supply
respecting the polarity L-N and earth connection
supply must also be equipped with a multi-pole circuit breaker with contact
opening distance of at least 3,5 mm. When replacing the power supply cable,
contact a qualified technician (e.g. Immergas Technical Assistance Service).
The power cable must be laid as prescribed.
In case of mains fuse replacement on the connection control card, use 3.15A
quick-blow fuses. Never use adapters, multiple sockets or extension leads
for the main power supply to the appliance.
Room chronothermostats (optional).
The boiler is arranged for application of the room chronothermostat.
These Immergas components are available as separate kits to the boiler and
are supplied on request.
All Immergas chronothermostats can be connected with 2 wires only.
Carefully read the use and installation instructions contained in the ac-
cessory kit.
• On/Off digital chronothermostat. The chronothermostat enables:
- setting of two room temperature values: one for day (comfort tem-
perature) and one for night (lower temperature);
- setting up to three on/off differential weekly programs;
- selecting the required function mode from the various possible alterna-
tives:
• permanent operation in comfort temp.
• permanent operation in lower temp.
• permanent function in adjustable antifreeze temp.
The chronothermostat is powered by two 1.5V LR6 type alkaline bat-
teries;
• Digital Remote Control Device with climatic chronothermostat function.
In addition to the functions described above, the Digital Remote Control
panel enables the user to control and have at hand all the important
information regarding operation of the appliance and the heating system
with the opportunity of easily modifying the previously set parameters
without having to go to the place where the appliance is installed. The
; the mains power
Digital Remote Control panel is provided with self-diagnosis to display
any boiler operation anomalies. The climate chronothermostat incor-
porated in the remote panel enables the system delivery temperature to
be adjusted to actual heating needs, in order to obtain the desired room
temperature with extreme precision and therefore with evident saving in
running costs. The chronothermostat is fed directly by the boiler with
the same two wires used for the transmission of data between boiler and
chronothermostat.
Electrical connection of the Digital Remote Control or On/Off chrono-
thermostat (optional). The following operations must be carried out after
disconnecting the power supply to the appliance. The possible thermostat or
On/Off room chronothermostat must be connected to terminals 40 and
41, eliminating jumper X40 (see wiring diagram). Make sure the On/Off
thermostat contact is of the "clean" type, i.e. independent of the mains volt-
age, otherwise the electronic control card would be damaged. The possible
Digital Remote Control must be connected to terminals 40 and 41 on the
electronic card (in the boiler), (see wiring diagram).
Important: If the Digital Remote Control is used arrange two separate
lines in compliance with current regulations regarding electrical systems.
Boiler pipes must never be used to earth the electrical system or telephone
lines. Ensure elimination of this risk before making the boiler electrical
connections.
1.4
Immergas supplies various solutions separately from the boiler for the instal-
lation of air intake and fume extraction terminals which are fundamental
for boiler operation.
Important: The boiler must be installed only with an original Immergas
air intake and fume extraction device as specified by the standards. This
system is identifiable by a special identification and distinctive marking
giving the note: "not for condensing boilers".
The fume exhaust pipes must not be in contact with or near flammable
materials and must not cross building structures or walls made of flam-
mable materials.
Important:
- for C1 type installation with split terminals, these must be installed inside
a 50 cm square perimeter;
- for C3 type installation the terminals must be installed inside a 50 cm
square perimeter and the distance between the two levels of the openings
must be less than 50 cm;
- for C5 type installation the two terminals must not be installed on op-
posite walls of the building.
• Resistance factors and equivalent lengths. Each fume exhaust system
component has a Resistance Factor obtained from experimental tests and
given in the table below. The Resistance Factor for individual components
does not depend on the type of boiler on which they are installed and is
a dimensional value. It depends on the temperature of fluids conveyed
through the duct and therefore varies according to applications for air
intake or fume exhaust. Each single component has a resistance corre-
sponding to a certain length in metres of pipe of the same diameter; the
so-called equivalent length. All boilers have an experimentally obtainable
Installing air intake and fume exhaust terminals.
