5. Residual risks, Personal Protection Equipment (P.P.E.), emergency situations

Residual risks that cannot be eliminated through redesign, construction techniques and accident
prevention:
due to:
- protruding parts
- suspended loads (loading/unloading phase)
- electrical power cables,
- accumulation of electrostatic charges
- moving parts
- load falling from the structure,
- access inside the counter (e.g. by climbing on
the front side)
Follow the instructions in this manual to use the counter correctly and prevent injuries and damages.

You can still check emergency situations for which you should use the experience of the op-
erator/engineer, and it must never compromise your own and others' safety by performing
risky or hasty manoeuvres.

6. Purpose of the manual/Field of application - Subjects concerned

DO NOT reproduce, disseminate or change the contents of the manual.
Carefully read the manual to find out how to avoid accidents and use the counter correctly
This manual contains general information on the line of Alba and Bucarest refrigerated cabinets
manufactured by ARNEG S.p.A. and the instructions deemed necessary for its proper operation.
The manual has been drawn up in compliance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
Addressees
The manual is divided into chapters. Each chapter is intended for a specific op-
erator:
QUALIFIED OPERATOR
qualified person, trained to operate, adjust, clean and perform maintenance
on the counter in accordance with the rules applicable in the country of instal-
lation.
EXPERT REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN
technician trained and authorised by the body indicated in the contract (man-
ufacturer/dealer/distributor) to perform: installation, extraordinary mainte-
nance, repair, replacement and servicing, aware of the risks they may be ex-
posed to and able to take all the measures to protect themselves and others,
minimising damage with respect to the risks that the interventions entail.
For each operative, skills are defined that are required to operate the counter
in conditions of safety.

Risks
It is the responsibility of the customer or employer to make sure that the
operators in charge of maintenance and use are trained according to the
regulations in force in the country of installation.

Where not specified, the chapter regards both subjects described.
Risk reduction
• wear suitable clothing (free of loose parts)
• Use the Personal Protection Devices chap. 3:
- accident prevention footwear
- cut-resistant gloves
- cut-resistant clothing for the body (apron
with bib, leg protection, etc.)
- glasses for protection against splinters
- safety helmet
• check equipotential connection
• prohibits behaviour that is not suitable with
warnings, signals etc. (to be provided by the
Customer)
