When installing pumps with combination flange PN6/10 the following
guidelines must be observed:
• The installation of a combination flange with a combination flange is
not permitted.
• The washers supplied (Fig. 12, item 1) must be inserted between the
screw heads/nuts and the combination flange.
CAUTION! Risk of material damage!
Danger of damage due to incorrect handling.
• Retaining elements (e.g. lock washers) are not permitted.
CAUTION! Risk of material damage!
Danger of damage due to incorrect handling.
• If installation is conducted incorrectly, the screw nut can become
jammed in the slotted hole. This can result in impaired functionality
of the flange connection due to insufficient pretension of the
screws.
• It is recommended that screws with a strength class of 4.6 are used for
flanged connections. When using screws made from a material other
than 4.6 (e.g. screws made from material 5.6 or an even higher-per-
formance material), only the permissible screw tightening torque cor-
responding to material 4.6 is to be used during installation.
Permitted screw tightening torques:
• for M12: 40 Nm
• for M16: 95 Nm
CAUTION! Risk of material damage!
Danger of damage due to incorrect handling.
• Only tighten higher-performance screws with the permitted tight-
ening torques. If higher-performance screws (≥ 4.6) are tightened
to tightening torques other than those permitted, splintering may
occur around the edges of the slotted holes due to the higher screw
tensions. This will cause the screws to lose their pretensioning and
the flanged connection could leak.
• Sufficiently long screws are to be used:

DANGER! Risk of fatal injury!
An improper electrical connection can result in a fatal electrical
shock.
• Have the electrical connection established by an electrician
approved by the local electricity supplier only and in accordance
with local regulations.
• Observe the installation and operating instructions for the acces-
sories!
WARNING! Risk of mains overload!
An inadequate mains design can lead to system failures and even to
cable fires due to mains overload.
• When designing the mains, with regard to the used cable cross-
sections and fuses, pay special attention to the fact that, in multi-
pump operation, it is possible that all pumps operate at the same
time for short periods.
