DT.4500 'MULTI-LOCK II' acts as a second pair of hands...
helping to retain camshafts in their timing position to ensure the engine timing is retained during timing belt removal/renewal.
On Diesel engines which have their cam and injection pump sprockets in close location,
'MULTI-LOCK II' can be used in the same way to retain timed position.
'MULTI-LOCK II' locates in to the sprocket teeth giving a firm and secure 'lock', either as a parallel fit or lateral/off-set positioning. Ratchet Locking
handles provide compact, strong lever action for tightening in position.
'MULTI-LOCK II' design feature also allows use on flanged sprockets
DT.4501 Extension Bridge Piece provides even greater application coverage.
Extends distance between locking arms for applications where sprockets are further apart.
Additional Features:-
Variable Pitch feature.......the 'MULTI-LOCK II' design incorporates adjustable arms which extend
or retract to cover various sprocket diameters and tooth pitch.
Ratchet Locking Handles...the 'MULTI-LOCK II' has two ratchet style handles for secure clamping
in a restricted space.
Flanged Sprocket Applications....slotted heads allows use on sprockets with flanged edges.
Operation:
Slacken both Ratchet Handles and with the plates close together, position them on top
of the sprockets. Locate the lugs of the left-hand plate into the teeth of the sprocket and
extend the other plate along the Bridge Piece, as horizontally as possible, to locate the other sprocket.
Force the plates apart and into the sprocket teeth.
Tighten the Ratchet Handles to give firm fixing. Check that all four lugs are fully engaged in to
the sprocket teeth.
