1. GENERAL
1.1 Application
The LIFTSON-S unit is designed for pumping the following :
- domestic waste water,
- sewage,
- water from drains with no outflow point reservoir (building),
whenever the unit is located below the main sewer.
The unit is not to be used for solid matter, fibrous substances, tar,
sand, cement, ash, coarse paper, debris, refuse, abattoir waste, fats
and oils (according to DIN 1986, section 1, § 9.5: in companies
where effluent containing fats is produced, it may be necessary to
install an oil separator upstream).

2. SAFETY
These instructions must be read carefully before installation and
commissioning. Particular care should be taken by the intermediate
or end user to operate the equipment safely.
2.1 Warning symbols used in the manual

Failure to heed an instruction so marked may
cause damage to the equipment or cause it to

2.2 Personnel qualifications
Personnel involved in the assembly, servicing and inspection of the
installation must have the necessary qualification for carrying out
this type of work.
2.3 Possible danger in the event of non-adherence to the safety
instructions indicated
Non-adherence to the safety instructions outlined in this manual
may endanger persons and equipment, engendering the following
risks in particular :
- failure of the main functions of the unit,
- electrical or mechanical risks for persons,
- risks for persons through the non-adherence to hygeine regulations
when the unit processes faecal matter,
- risks for persons and the environment due to leaks of hazardous
substances or gas.
2.4 Equipment changes - spare parts
Any changes to be made to the unit must first be submitted for approval
to the manufacturer. It is essential that the spare parts to be used,
whether main parts or fittings, are approved by the manufacturer.

3. TRANSPORT AND STORAGE

When the equipment is delivered, check that it has not been
damaged in transit. If a fault is noticed, take all necessary action
with the carrier.
If the equipment being delivered is to be installed

at a later date, store it in a dry area and protect it
from impacts and outside influences (moisture, frost, etc.).
A maximum of three units can be stacked on top of one another.

5 INSTALLATION
5.1 Assembly (See FIG. 5)

The unit must be installed in compliance with
CAUTION !
professional regulations.
Provide adequate space around the device for repair and
maintenance (60 cm in height and width).
The area in which the unit is housed should be sufficiently ventilated.
Provide a vent to air the room.
During the installation, ensure that the dimensions are respected
(See § 4.2).
For an installation inside a partition wall (See § 5.3).
The unit should be installed so that the tank is on a solid base; insert
the fixing lugs (See FIG. 2a - ref. a) provided for this purpose, which
are located on the two front panels of the unit, into the handles and
secure them to the ground using the bolts and screws provided.
Then stick on the 3 foam bands (See FIG. 2a).
5.2 Hydraulic connection
Connect the intake manifold and the additional pipelines, ensuring
that no stress is applied to the tank. Use collars or brackets.
Connect all the pipes using flexible joints and anti-vibration collars to
prevent the spread of any possible noise.
When connecting waste water sanitary devices, the minimum
height of 180mm must be respected (See FIG. 10).
Discharge pipe
A swanneck-shaped discharge pipe is used (See FIG. 5 - ref. c) to
protect against the possible entry of effluent from the drain.
In compliance with current guidelines, it is advisable to include a
waste water non-return sludge valve on the discharge pipe with a
device for bleeding the pipe.
Tank connection
Inlet DN 100 in the unit may be made on either of the two
longitudinal sides and/or at the rear of the tank. For this, a hole must
be cut in the wall of the reservoir (See FIG. 3) using the circular
cutter provided which is mounted on a drill (100 to 200 rpm). The
centre guide of the cutter is inserted into the markings provided on
the reservoir. These markings appear with the numbers 180 and 250
(height of mark measured from the bottom of the tank). 180 mm is
the standard height for a WC on the ground and 250 mm is the
standard height for a WC attached to a wall.
The speed of the drill should be set to between

100 and 200 rpm.
The opening made must be burred so that the DN 100 inlet joint
supplied with the unit can be mounted on the wall of the reservoir
(See FIG. 3 - ref. b).
The tube is placed in the inlet joint. Lightly grease the tube in
advance.
Only one DN 100 inlet joint is delivered with the module; should more
be required, contact the Salmson after-sales service.
The DN 70 degassing pipe is located on the upper part of the tank.
