Operation
Adjusting the stacking platform
24
The adjustments should only be carried out on appliances which are switched
off, disconnected from the power supply and at a suitable temperature (room
temperature).
Before work starts, it is always necessary to check whether the stacker to be
used is correctly adjusted to the crockery to be used.
The following should be checked separately:
in BDUH the plates are guided verticially, so that there is no risk to the op-
erating staff as a result of the crockery guides being set too far apart or too
close together,
in unheated appliances whether the plates are suitable and the stacks
support each other (see also «Examples of use for BD/60-60 and BD/
60-60-K» on page 26),
the dispensing or serving height, so that staff cannot suffer injury or be-
come trapped and no breakage of crockery can occur.
Basically, the appliance must be adjusted if at least one of the following crock-
ery parameters alters: diameter or edge length, height H
and weight.
Adjusting the guide rods (only BDUH)
The platform is only guided in the corners of the well by means of roller bear-
ings. Owing to the generous size of the openings, the platform moves quite
independently of the guide rods.
The positions of the guide rods must be adapted to the size of the items of
crockery before loading.
If the guides are set too wide, the column of crockery can become wedged
under the upper plate due to the high angles of tilt which are possible, and
can injure operating staff when released. Also a rocking column of crock-
ery creates an imbalance during transport and has a negative effect on the
way the stacker travels.
If the guides are set too close, plates can become jammed and can injure
people when released suddenly.
Owing to the pattern of holes and the inner lining of the well consisting of plas-
tic-coated struts, items of crockery which are too small may not be guided
properly and should not be used. Details of the permitted crockery sizes are to
be found in the section «Technical Data» on page 33.
Remove cover and put it down.
Remove all guide rods from the insertion points and put them down in a
clean, dry place, clean them carefully if need be before putting them back
in.
Put one item of crockery onto the platform for each stack required.
Insert guide rods at the locations provided.
The guide rods with the peripheral ring mounting must be inserted down-
wards so that the smallest possible distance exists between the stacks of
plates and the rods. Ensure a uniform distance from the inner lining of the
well.
The guide rods can be omitted if the stacks of crockery support each other.
Examples of use of guide rods see page 25 ff.
