Pole saw safety warnings
Keep all parts of the body away from the saw chain
or saw blade when the pole saw is operating. Before
you start the machine, make sure the saw chain
or blade is not contacting anything. A moment of
inattention while operating the machine may result in
injury to yourself or others.
Always use two hands when operating the pole saw.
Hold the machine with both hands to avoid loss of
control.
To reduce the risk of electrocution, never use the
pole saw near any electrical power lines. Contact
with or use near power lines may cause serious
injury or electric shock resulting in death.
Hold the pole saw by insulated gripping surfaces
only, because the saw chain or blade may contact
hidden wiring. Saw chains or blades contacting
a "live" wire may make exposed metal parts of
the machine "live" and could give the operator an
electric shock.
Wear safety glasses and ear protection. Further
protective equipment for hands and feet is
recommended. Adequate protective clothing will
reduce personal injury by flying debris or accidental
contact with the saw chain or blade.
Always use head protection when operating the pole
saw overhead. Falling debris can result in serious
personal injury.
Always keep proper footing and operate the pole
saw only when standing on the ground. Slippery or
unstable surfaces may cause a loss of balance or
control of the machine.
