ENGINE STARTING
1 - Make sure that the control lever is in neutral
position.
2 - Turn the ignition key to ON.
This position activates an automatic test which
checks if the dashboard is operating:
- A short lasting acoustic sound is generated.
- The VM logo appears on the display.
- The instrument hands (engine rpm - battery
voltage - engine oil pressure - engine tempera-
ture) move to full scale, then position themselves
according to the value transmitted by the respec-
tive sensor.
- The red lamps, respectively inside the instru-
ments: battery voltage - engine oil pressure -
engine temperature, light up for a short time, then
switch off.
3 - Wait for the end of the automatic control se-
quence.
4 - Press the START button to start the engine.
5 - Keep the engine running at idle speed.
6 - Visually check that the dashboard instrumen-
tation is operating correctly and displays normal
readings.
IMPORTANT
To facilitate the starting and the fuel com-
bustion process, the engine is equipped with
ceramic glow plugs located inside the respec-
tive combustion chambers. The glow plugs
are controlled by the engine control unit by

or failure to turn off the engine oil pressure
warning light, or other engine malfunction,

- For warming up the engine, maintain a speed of
1000 / 1200 rpm until the engine temperature has
stabilised within the normal values of 80°C - 95°C
/ 176°F - 203°F.
In any case, start normal boat operations only
when the engine temperature has reached 80°C -
95°C / 176°F - 203°F.

During the engine running-in period, follow the
operating instructions on page 23.
