Undesirable side-effect
This device can cause skin reactions (redness, itching, burns, blisters...) or wounds
of various degrees of severity.
Any serious incidents occurring related to the device should be reported to the
manufacturer and to the competent authority of the Member State in which the
user and/or patient is resident.
Instructions for use/Application
It is recommended to wear the device directly on the skin, unless contraindicated.
To avoid damage to the knit fabric, please make sure that the self-griping pads
are always fastened to the designated self-griping surfaces when putting it on
and taking it off.
• To position the knee brace properly, place the fine knit ❹ at the back of the knee,
with your leg straight; hold the uprights on either side at the hinge and perform a
flexion/extension movement.
• Cover the leg with the knee brace by fastening the touch fasteners at the top
and bottom.
The straps are numbered using a perforation system.
Tighten the straps following the order of the perforations, starting by the posterior
strap:
• first tighten and fasten the suspension strap Ⓐ located above the calf,
• clip and/or tighten straps Ⓑ, Ⓒ, Ⓓ, Ⓔ, Ⓕ, Ⓖ and Ⓗ successively.
Tightening the front/back straps adjusts the position of the uprights on the leg to
optimize comfort.
If you feel the need to tighten the straps during an activity, make sure you tighten
them following the steps indicated in the fitting instructions.
To make the knee brace more comfortable and improve its hold, the uprights can
be shaped.
Apply a slight pressure in the desired direction.
Repeat the process on the other upright if needed.
If subsequent shaping of the uprights is needed, consult a healthcare professional.
Flexion/extension control
The adjustment of the flexion/extension must be decided and performed by the
healthcare professional, not by the patient.
The product's default position is limitation of extension to 0°.
To change this setting, please follow the following instructions, to be repeated with
the same limitation on both hinges.
The extension and flexion limitations are situated on plastic pieces contained in
the box (Fig. 2-3).
Extension can be limited to 0°, 5°, 10°, 15°, 20°, 30° and 40°.
Flexion can be limited to 0°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 75° and 90°.
Adjusting the extension limitation:
• Choose the desired extension limitation on the corresponding plastic piece (Fig. 2).
• Open the hinge cap by using the latch located at the back: push the latch inwards
and then lift the cap.
• Flex the hinge slightly and remove the existing extension limitation.
Take care to note the direction this limitation is facing..
• Insert the new extension limitation.
Take care to check that the shape of this part follows the contours of the cap
(Fig. 2).
Straighten the hinge to full extension to confirm the extension limitation is
correctly positioned.
• Close the cap, and then do a few flexions/extensions to make sure that the limita-
tion is properly locked at the desired angle.
Adjusting the flexion limitation:
• Choose the desired flexion limitation on the corresponding plastic piece (Fig. 3).
• Open the hinge cap by using the latch located at the back: push the latch inwards
and then lift the cap.
10
• Put the hinge into the maximum extension position and insert the desired flexion
limitation (the flexion limitation are placed at the back of the hinge).
Make sure the hole located in flexion limitation coincides with the hole situated in
the hinge (metal portion) (Fig. 3).
• Close the cap, and then do a few flexions/extensions to make sure that the limita-
tion is porperly locked at the desired angle.
Final locking of the hinge cap:
• Detach the plastic piece ❺ for locking the cap from its packaging (Fig. 3).
• Once the cap is closed, point the locking piece in such a manner that it fits into
the notch in the cap.
• Then push the locking piece until it comes into abutment.
Care/Maintenance

To do this:

from of their casings.
• Remove the uprights via the top opening.
Replace after washing:

towards the back.
• Insert the upper and lower ends of the uprights into their casings.
