Care and Maintenance
Care and maintenance comprise the activities which keep the Motorcast compact in an impeccable
operating condition.
Examine the unit regularly for mechanical damage. Ascertain that the seating of the centrifugal arm
as well as the counterweighting is in order, as well as that of the housing itself. In this way, you will
avoid accidents and downtime on the machine.
Thoroughly remove any accumulations of contaminants on moving parts. By doing so, you are
assuring easy operation and satisfactory functioning of the equipment.
Before cleaning the unit, turn off the casting apparatus switch and also unplug the power
cord.
When cleaning the machine, be careful to prevent any moisture from penetrating it. This will
remove the danger of short circuits which can lead to malfunction of the machine or fire.
Dangerous voltages are present in the inner wiring of the equipment. Maintenance and
repair work should therefore be carried out only by authorized DeguDent service
technicians.
Making changes to the unit yourself lessens the operational safety of the casting machine
and increases the danger of personal injury and material damage.
Trouble Shooting - Tripped circuit-breakers/ blown fuses
Upon start-up or during running of the equipment, the external building circuit-breaker or
fuse protection shuts off current.
The on-rush of current upon start-up of the motor is many times greater than the normal operating
current. Check whether or not too many users are on the line which serves the casting machine.
Preheating ovens, for example, are great consumers of energy.
Upon start-up or during running of the equipment the internal overload protection trips.
The protective device of the equipment is found beside the power switch, and current can be
reestablished by pressing the reset button. Repeated drop out indicates a defect in the casting
machine which must be corrected by an authorized service technician from DeguDent.
