TRANSLATION OF THE ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS
CORDLESS CHAIN SAW
CAUTION: BEFORE USING THE POWER TOOL READ THIS MANUAL
CAREFULLY AND KEEP IT FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
DETAILED SAFETY REGULATIONS
SAFETY CONDITIONS SPECIFIC FOR CORDLESS CHAIN SAWS
WARNING: Observe safety regulations when using the chain saw.
For your own and other persons safety read this manual before
starting to work with the saw. Please keep this manual for future
reference.
• Hold the saw only by the insulated handles in case the chain gets
in contact with undetected electrical wire. Contact of chain with
live electrical wire may cause voltage to appear on exposed parts of
the tool and electric shock of the operator.
• When working with the chain saw never bring any part of your
body near the chain. Before starting the chain saw make sure the
chain does not touch any object. A moment of inattention when the
chain saw is working may cause catching of clothes or body part with
the chain.
• Always hold the chain saw with your right hand on the rear handle
and your left hand on the front handle. Holding the chain saw with
inversed hand positions causes risk of body injury and is not allowed.
• Caution: In case of chain saws with guide bar located on the left side,
phrases "right hand" and "left hand" should be inversed.
• Use protective glasses and hearing protection. It is recommended
to use additional safety equipment for head, hands, legs and feet.
Proper safety clothes limit risk of body injury caused by projected
pieces of material or accidental contact with the chain of the saw.
• Do not use the chain saw while standing on a tree. Use of the chain
saw while being on a tree may cause body injury.
• Operator must stand firmly on the ground and can use the chain
saw only when standing on firm, safe and even surface. Standing
on slippery or unstable surface, e.g. on a ladder, may cause loss of
balance or control over the saw.
• When cutting branches under bending or torsion stress
remember about possibility of a sudden kick. When releasing the
energy of fibres in wood under stress, the branch may hit the operator
or cause loss of control over the chain saw.
• Be very careful when cutting bushes and saplings. Soft and flexible
parts can get caught by the chain saw and hit the operator, causing
loss of balance.
• Carry the chain saw when it is switched off, holding it by the
front handle and away from your body. Always put the guide bar
cover on for chain saw carrying or storage. Appropriate handling
the chain saw allows to limit the possibility of accidental contact with
moving chain.
• Follow instructions for lubrication, tensioning and replacement
of accessories. Improperly tensioned or lubricated chain may break
or improve risk of kickback.
• Keep chain saw handles dry, clean and free from oil or grease.
Greasy or oily handles can cause loss of control over the saw.
• The saw is designed to cut only wood. Use the saw only in
accordance with its purpose. Examples of misuse include cutting
plastic or construction materials other than wood. Use of the chain
saw for purposes other than it is designed for may cause dangerous
situations.
• The saw is designed for maintenance cutting in home garden. The
chain saw is designed for cutting off or cutting through branches.
It is not designed for felling trees.
Causes of kickback and ways to prevent it:
Kickback may occur when the chain gets caught and pinched in a cut.
Safety is improved thanks to anti kickback guard located on the guide
bar tip. It prevents from touching processed material with the guide bar
tip and protects from kickback. Pinching of the chain on the top side of
the guide bar may cause fast kickback towards the operator. It may cause
loss of control of the saw and serious body injury. Never rely solely on
the protective devices of the saw. The user is responsible for taking few
actions to avoid accidents and body injuries during work. Kickback is an
