effect of improper use of the chain saw, incorrect procedures or working
conditions, and can be avoided by taking the following actions:
• Hold the saw firmly with your hands, with your thumbs and
fingers tightly closed on the saw handles. Hold the device
with both hands and position your body and hands in a way to
reduce the kickback force. You can control the kickback force under
condition of taking appropriate preventive measures. Do not drop the
chain saw.
• Do not reach too far with the saw, do not cut above your
shoulders. This allows to avoid unintentional contact with the tip of
the chain saw and better control of the tool in unexpected situations.
• Use only guide bars and chains specified by the manufacturer.
Replacement of guide bars and chains with inappropriate models may
cause break of the chain or kickback.
• Follow the manufacturer instructions regarding kickback and
technical maintenance of the chain saw.
Additional safety precautions:
• Persons unfamiliar with instruction manual are not allowed to use
chain saw.
• Other use of the chain saw is the sole responsibility of the user
who should bear in mind that it may be dangerous.
• The manufacturer is not responsible for losses and damages
resulting from improper use of the chain saw.
• Carrying the chain saw is possible only when holding its front
handle. Other parts may not ensure appropriate grip and even cause
injury.
• Cutting chain should be clean and sharp. Proper maintenance of
sharp cutting edges of chain reduces the risk of jamming and makes
operation easier.
Operation
• Be very careful at the end of a cut, because the saw having no support
in processed material falls down due to its inertia, which may cause
injuries.
• When working for a long time, the saw operator may experience
formication and numbness in fingers and hands. Stop working in such
case, because numbness reduces precision in saw use.
• The saw heats considerably during operation. Be careful and do not
touch hot parts of the saw with unprotected parts of your body.
• Only one person can operate the chain saw at a time. All other persons
and animals shall be away from working area of the chain saw.
• When starting the saw, its cutting chain must not rest on the
processed material.
• Children and juveniles cannot operate the chain saw. Allow only adults
who know how to handle the tool to access the saw. This instruction
manual should be given with the chain saw.
• Stop working with the chain saw with first signs of fatigue.
• When cutting sawn wood or thin branches use support (sawing
horse).
• Do not cut several boards at the same time (placed one on top of
another), or material held by other person or held with foot.
• Long objects should be firmly fixed before cutting.
• On sloped ground process with cutting only when facing towards top
of the hill.
• When cutting through always use the bumper spike as a point of
support. Hold the saw by the rear handle and guide with the front
handle.
• In case the cut cannot be completed in one run, slide the saw out,
position the bumper spike and continue the cut by lifting rear handle.
• When cutting in horizontal plane, position yourself at an angle as close
to 90º from cutting line as possible. Horizontal cutting requires the
saw operator to be focused.
• When the chain is pinched when cutting with the top side of the guide
bar, the saw may kickback towards operator. Because of this effect cut
with the bottom part of the chain whenever possible. Then, in case
of pinching, the kickback effect changes direction away from the
operator.
• Be very careful when cutting wood when there is risk of splitting.
Pieces of wood that are cut off can be flung in any direction (risk of
body injury!).
• Only trained persons should cut off tree branches! Uncontrolled fall of
a tree branch constitutes a risk of body injury!
• Watch out for logs that may roll down towards you. Jump away!
• During kickback the chain saw cannot be controlled and the chain is
loosened.
• Incorrectly sharpened chain increases risk of kickback.
• Hold the chain saw with both hands when starting up and during
operation.
• Ensure the processed material is firmly fixed.
• Use clamps to fix the material.
• Never cut more than one branch at a time. When cutting off, watch out
for surrounding branches.
Maintenance and storage
• Keep all components in good condition to ensure the saw works
safely.
• To keep the operation safe, replace worn out or damaged parts.
• Protect the saw against humidity.
• Keep the tool beyond reach of children.
Safety instructions for battery
• In case of battery damage and improper use it may produce gas.
Ventilate room and seek medical attention in case of medical
symptoms. Gas can damage respiratory tract.
• Improper operation conditions may lead to battery electrolyte leak,
avoid contact with the substance. In case of accidental contact, flush
the electrolyte abundantly with water. In case of contact with eyes,
additionally seek medical attention. Leaked electrolyte may cause eye
irritation or burns.
• Do not disassemble the battery – there is a risk of short circuiting.
• Do not use power tool battery in rain.
• Always keep the battery away from sources of heat. Do not leave
the battery for a long time in high temperature (in direct sunlight, in
proximity of heaters and wherever the temperature exceeds 50°C).
Safety instructions for battery charger
• This equipment is not intended for use by persons with restricted
physical, sensory or mental capabilities (including children) or persons
who have no experience or are unfamiliar with the equipment, unless
the use is supervised or carried out in accordance with equipment use
instructions handed over by persons responsible for their safety.
• Pay attention to children so they don't play with the equipment.
• Do not expose the charger to humidity or water. Ingress of water
into the charger increases risk of electric shock. Use the charger only
in dry rooms.
• Disconnect the charger from power supply before starting any
maintenance or cleaning.
• Do not use charger when placed on flammable surface (e.g. paper,
textiles) or in proximity of flammable substance. Greater charger
temperature when charging increases risk of fire.
• Check condition of charger, cable and plug before each use.
Do not use the charger if any damage is found. Do not try
to disassemble the charger. All repairs should be made by an
authorized service workshop. Improper charger assembly may cause
electric shock or fire.
• Children or persons who are physically, emotionally or mentally
disabled and other persons, whose experience or knowledge is
insufficient to use the charger while following all safety rules should
not use the charger without supervision of person responsible for
their safety. Otherwise there is a risk of improper use and injuries in
consequence.
• When the charger is not in use, it should be disconnected from the
mains network.
CAUTION! The design is assumed to be safe, protection measures
and additional safety systems are used, nevertheless there is always
a small risk of injuries at work.
Li-Ion batteries may leak, set on fire or explode when heated to high
temperature or short-circuited. Do not store the batteries in a car
in hot and sunny days. Do not open the battery. Li-Ion batteries
contain electronic protection devices that, if damaged, may cause
fire or explosion of the battery.
