Before starting the engine refill the fuel and the engine oil. Place the pump on a hard and even surface. Connect the hoses to the
water inlet and outlet. The other extreme of the suction hose, which is equipped with a filter, must be placed in the water tank. Put
the other extreme of the outlet hose in the place to which water is to be pumped. Fill the chamber of the pump with water.
Set the fuel valve to ON (IX).
Set the choke lever to OFF (X). In case a hot engine is started, it is not required to set the choke lever to OFF.
Set the throttle lever to 1/3 of the range (XI).
Set the switch of the engine to ON (XII).
Pull slightly the starting cable until resistance is felt, and then pull it quickly (XIII) until the engine starts. Attention! Do not release
the starting cable, since the handle may hit the engine. Let the handle return to the initial position.
As the engine is getting hot, move the choke lever gradually to ON.
Move the throttle lever to the working position – maximum lever tilt.
Stopping the engine
Move the throttle lever to the minimum position.
Set the engine switch to OFF.
Set the fuel valve to OFF.
Stopping the engine in emergency
Set the engine switch to OFF.
Move the throttle lever to the minimum position.
Set the fuel valve to OFF.
Attention! The higher the altitude above the sea level, the lower the power of the engine. This is related to modifications of the
composition of the fuel and air mixture under a lower pressure. The pump is equipped with a carburettor which is set to permit
normal operation up to 1800 m above seal level. If the pump is operated at a higher altitude, then the power of the engine will
decrease, and the efficiency of the pump will be therefore lower. Prolonged operation under such conditions will damage the en-
gine. Before work at an altitude exceeding 1800 m above seal level is commenced, have the carburettor adjusted in an authorised
service shop. Once operation at an altitude exceeding 1800 m above seal level has concluded, have the carburettor restored to
the factory settings in an authorised service shop.
The pump is equipped with an oil level sensor, which will stop the operation of the engine or impede starting the engine when the
engine oil level is too low. In case the sensor is activated and the engine is stopped, turn the engine off in accordance with the
aforementioned procedure, refill the oil tank and start the pump.

MAINTENANCE OF THE PUMP

Before any operations described below are commenced, the pump must be turned off. Make sure the engine and other elements
are not hot. Remove the sparking plug in order to avoid accidental activation of the device. During maintenance operations keep
away from fire and refrain from smoking.
Maintenance of the air filter (XIV)
The condition of the air filter should be checked after each use of the pump, and maintenance operations should be realised every
three months or after each 50 hours of operation of the pump or more frequently, depending on the working environment.
Remove the nut of the air filter cover and remove the cover itself. Remove the filter clamping nut and remove the filter. Rinse the
filter in warm water with detergent, dry it and soak it with SAE20 engine oil. Extrude the excess of oil. Do not wring the filter. Install
the filter and screw the cover.
Replacement and maintenance of the sparking plug (XV)
Check the condition of the sparking plug at least once in six months or after each 100 hours of operation.
Remove the rubber protection of the sparking plug contact and remove the sparking plug using a sparking plug wrench. Check
the condition of the electrodes of the sparking plug. In case they are dirty, the electrodes of the sparking plug should be cleaned
with a wire brush. In case it is not possible to clean the sparking plug, it must be replaced. The distance between the electrodes
of the sparking plug should be 0.7-0.8 mm.
Maintenance of the fuel filter (XVI)
Maintenance of the fuel filter must be carried out every six months or after 100 hours of operation.
Set the fuel valve to OFF. Unscrew the fuel filter cover. Remove the gasket and the mesh. Clean the cover, the gasket and the
mesh. Dry them thoroughly and replace. Tighten the cover of the filter so as to ensure leakproofness of the fuel installation.
Maintenance of the fuel inlet filter (XVII)
Check the condition of the fuel inlet filter at each refuelling. In case it is dirty, carry out the following maintenance procedure.
