The instruction manual for this device consists of general and specific instructions,
both must be carefully read and understood before use. Attention! This leaflet
shows the specific instruction only.
SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS QUICK TREE.
This note contains the necessary information for a correct use of the following
product/s: left or right foot ascender Quick Tree and the relative fastening system
to the boots and tree climbing crampons.
1) FIELD OF APPLICATION.
The rope clamps for foot Quick Tree are not personal protection equipment (P.P.E.).
They are only accessories to facilitate rope ascents and they must not be used to
prevent falling from a height. They keep the rope stretched under the body of the
user, thus facilitating the flow of the other blocking devices and helping to keep
the body of the user vertical.

4) COMPATIBILITY.
The device can be only used with ropes (core + sheath) static or semi-static (EN

or plied ropes.
5) CHECKS.
Further to the checks listed below, comply with what indicated in the general
instructions (paragraph 3). Before each use, verify that: the cam teeth are present
and show no signs of wear. During each use: check regularly the buckles and the
adjustment devices.
6) INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE OF THE QUICK TREE.
The Quick Tree foot ascender can be installed onto any boot using the QT Uni-
versal model (Ref. No. 4D661) or any tree climbing crampon using the QT Spurs
model (Ref. No. 4D660). All the supports are provided with a fixing plate (Fig.
6.1A-6.1B), equipped with two attachment holes that allow the installation of the
Quick Tree devices.
6.1 - Installation. Insert the fastening pins of the device into the holes on the fixing
plate (Fig. 6.1A-6.1B). Push the device upwards (Fig. 6.2) until it stops. Move the
fastening lever into the direction of closure (Fig. 6.3) and rotate the locking lever
(Fig. 6.4) so that it latches correctly onto the fastening lever (Fig. 6.5).
6.2 - Insertion of the rope. Open the fastening lever (Fig. 7.2 - step 1). Open the
locking cam by rotating the safety lever and attach it to the body of the device
(Fig. 7.2 - step 2). Insert the rope into the device (Fig. 7.3) and then close the cam
releasing the lever from the body (Fig. 7.4 - step 1). Rotate the fastening lever (Fig.
7.4 - step 2) in such a way that it latches correctly onto the locking lever (Fig. 7.5).
Attention! Do not start to climb before you have properly closed the locking lever.
6.3 - Function test. Before starting, make sure that the tool is free to slide upwards
and locks into the desired position.
6.4 - Removal of the rope. Open the locking lever. Open the locking cam by ro-
tating the safety lever and attach it the body of the device. Then remove the rope.
7) INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE OF THE QT UNIVERSAL.
7.1 - Preliminary configuration. The QT Universal is set up for use on the right
boot but this set up can be modified to permit installation onto the left boot. For in-
stallation onto the left boot, separate the upper webbing from the lower webbing
and insert it again inside the upper webbing and the fixing plate as shown (Fig.
4.6). Then close the buckle as shown (Fig. 3.1 ÷ 3.4). To return to the set up for
the right boot, refer to fig. 4.2 - 4.3.
7.2 - Attaching the boot. Attach the support so that the fixing plate is positioned
on the inner side of the foot (Fig. 4.1 - 4.5) and that the protective webbing is
positioned in the notch under the sole of the boot. Adjust the height of the fixing
plate by means of the lower buckle (Fig. 3.5 - 3.7) and tighten the protective web-
bing so that the system is taut and perfectly adherent to the boot (Fig. 4.4 - 4.8).
7.3 - How to use. The QT Universal enables the use of the Quick Tree devices for
ascending single or twin ropes. The images show some examples of progression
up the rope (Fig. 8-9-10).

8.1 - Installation. The QT Spurs can be installed onto both a right and left
foot tree climbing crampon. The front fixing plate is two-sided and the two
sides are indicated as R (Right) or L (left). For installation onto the right cram-
pon, assemble the components as shown, by tightening the screws provided
until they stop (choose either the long or short ones depending on the model of
the crampon) (Fig. 5.1). For installation onto the left crampon, refer to Fig. 5.2.
Attention! The support can be adjusted in two directions in order to ensure opti-
mum positioning (Fig. 5.3).
8.2 - How to use. The QT Spurs enables the ascending of a rope while wearing
tree climbing crampons. This speeds up the maneuvers because you avoid having
to continually take off and put back on the crampons to switch from the tree climb-
ing mode to the rope climbing mode.
