Greasing the torque limiters & overrunning clutch
New devices are normally supplied without grease; hence they need to be fully greased prior to
installing them. Proceed to the greasing as indicated below at the start of each season and after a
period of non-use. The grease to use is NLGI grade 2.
Overrunning clutch: grease every 50 working hours.
Radial pin torque limiter: grease every 50 working hours.
Shear bolt torque limiter: grease every 250 working hours.
Shear bolt torque limiter with overrunning clutch: grease the overrunning clutch every 50
working hours and the shear bolt limiter every 250 working hours.
Automatic cam clutch/cut out torque limiter: this device is supplied pre-greased for 500
working hours; for further greasing operations contact a service center.
Automatic cam clutch/cut out torque limiter with overrunning clutch: grease the
overrunning clutch every 50 working hours; the automatic cam clutch is supplied instead pre-greased
for 500 working hours; for further greasing operations contact a service center.
Friction torque limiter: this device DOES NOT require greasing.
Friction torque limiter with overrunning clutch: grease the overrunning clutch every 50
working hours; the friction device instead DOES NOT require greasing.

PTO drive shaft maintenance
The PTO drive shaft is a highly dangerous mechanical device, hence it must be used exclusively
for the intended purpose.
Disassembling the guard (simple joints)
47.
By applying suitable pressure, pull the guard tube backwards and, using a screwdriver, disengage the
three retainer tabs by pushing them inward.
48.
Remove the half guard.
49.
Open the retainer and extract it from its groove.
9
- With no grease point on the tube: disassemble the two half-shafts and the guard, apply grease
to the internal telescopic pro le, re-assemble the two semi-shafts, extend and compress the PTO
drive shaft. Repeat the operation at least three times. At the end of the procedure, reassemble the
guard.
the plastic ring from the support, clean both the support and the ring, re-apply grease on the
groove of the support and re-assemble the components.
