IMPORTANT:
A PTO drive shaft can be used as "primary transmission" (ISO 5673) only if compliant with regulations
and therefore bearing the "CE" mark. For the purpose of ensuring adequate safety levels when using
a PTO drive shaft, it is important to also read through the user manual of the tractor and of the
implement machine, making sure that the entire transmission system complies with regulations.
7.
WARNING
The use of a PTO drive shaft entails serious risks for the user's safety. Access to the work area must be
allowed exclusively to duly trained personnel made fully aware of such risks. Users must also prevent
other people from going near the PTO drive shaft, with special attention for children.
EN
Adequate safety levels depend upon:
• Careful and proper use of the product in a manner that conforms to applicable prescriptions;
• The e ciency of the PTO drive shaft guard and of the protections installed on the tractor and on the
implement machine; in case either one of these parts is replaced, the relative safety rules need to be
followed.
8.
Before starting work, make sure that all protections on the PTO drive shaft, tractor and implement
machine are installed and e cient. All rotating parts must be protected and guarded.
9.
Before starting work, verify that the PTO drive shaft is properly and rmly xed to the power take-o
(PTO) of the tractor and the power implement connection (PIC) of the machine.
10.
Avoid wearing work clothes with belts, aps or parts that might get entangled with any rotating organ.
In addition, long loose hair, bracelets, watches and in general anything that might get entangled,
represents a potential hazard. Any contact with rotating components may cause serious injury.
11.
Before going near the machine to carry out maintenance or to enter the PTO drive shaft work area,
switch o the engine and remove the keys from the tractor ignition. Verify that all the rotating parts are
stationery. Also make sure that the parking brake of the tractor and/or of the implement machine has
been activated and that the surrounding area is totally safe, so as to prevent accidents.
12.
During operation, PTO drive shaft components may reach high temperatures (especially the joints and
the torque limiters); to avoid burns do not touch any component until the PTO drive shaft has cooled
down. Keep the nearby areas clean to prevent res.
13.
All maintenance and repair operations must be carried out using suitable accident-prevention
equipment and protection and prevention devices.
14.
The PTO drive shaft and any torque limiters are selected based on the functional and power
characteristics of the implement machine, and these must not be replaced with components that
di er from those indicated by the machine manufacturer. It is prohibited to make changes to the
product that defers from the ones reported in this manual; any change can compromise the product
functionality and compromise the operator's safety.
15.
During periods of inactivity the PTO drive shaft must be stored in a dry place and protected against
atmospheric agents.

Installation instructions

16.
Clean and grease the power take-o (PTO) of the tractor and the power implement connection (PIC)
of the implement machine before installing the PTO drive shaft.
17.
The tractor pictogram printed on the safety label (item 2b) indicates the side of the PTO drive shaft
that must be connected to the tractor PTO (or self-propelled machinery).
