While working, the PTO drive shaft length must stay above "Lmin" and below "Lmax" at all times.
For all PTO drive shafts with tubing pro les (tri-lobes, bi-lobes and 6-lobes) where "Lmin" is below
710 mm, the minimum overlap between the tubing pro les in working conditions, that is the value
"1/2L" (Fig.31), must not be less than 250 mm. For all PTO drive shafts with a splined bushing, the
minimum overlap between the splined bushing and the splined shafting must be equivalent to the
actual length of the splined bushing itself.
In all cases where the rotation speeds exceed 540 rpm, or the working angle exceeds 10° or length
"Lmin" is greater than 1360 mm, the values indicated in the paragraph "Length and overlap" may
di er. Please refer to the implement machine manual or to the PTO drive shaft manufacturer.
PLEASE SEE THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL OF THE IMPLEMENT MACHINE.

Working angles

33.
It is recommended to work with limited and equal angles "α" on both articulation joints.
34.
In any event, comply with the following parameters (see table 6):
Series
Energy
Evolution V
Evolution W
a = In continuous operation b = In rotation, temporarily and with no load
When using a wide-angle PTO drive shaft, consisting of a simple joint on one side and a wide-angle
joint on the other, it is recommended to keep the angle of the simple joint under 10°.
Check that the position of the PTO drive shaft articulation centers is correct with respect to the
articulation centers of the machine and/or mechanical system between the two PTOs.
Torque limiters & Overrunning clutch
WARNING
Operating the torque limiters temporarily stops the rotation of one part of the transmission but not
permanently: the rotation can suddenly re-start the moment the power conditions requested by
the implement machine change. In the event that operation of the torque limiters during power
transmission occurs too frequently or for too long, verify the torque setting value in connection with
the speci c application (please refer to the torque setting value indicated in the implement machine
manual). Any changes to the setting of the torque limiters may damage the components of the
transmission system and generate dangerous accidents. To lubricate the torque limiters, follow the
instructions provided in chapter G: "PTO drive shaft lubrication".
35.
Overrunning clutch
This device eliminates power returns from the machine to the tractor during the deceleration or stop
phases of the power take-o .
