3. Install the metal clamp, cable gland nut, brass sleeve and grommet onto the
home run cable while sliding back the outer braid shield as shown in Figure
2-20. Note that the outer drain wire remains on the outside of the gland.

4. Twist the black and green wires of the PDX cable together and wind the inner
drain wire around them as shown in Figure 2-20.
5. Crimp the remaining loop terminal onto the end of the black and green wires
and the inner shield drain wire as shown in Figure 2-20.
6. Insert this prepared cable into the PDX cable gland on the rear of the enclosure
(refer to Figure 2-13 and Table 2-1).
7. Fold and spread-out the inner shield braid and foil over the end of the grommet
before pressing the grommet into the body of the cable gland, as shown in
Figure 2-21. The end of the inner shield must be folded back over the end of
the grommet to make contact with the metal gland. Ensure that the inner shield
braid and foil are trimmed back enough to prevent overlapping with the black
0-ring on the grommet – see Figure 2-20.

8. Press the cable gland nut and clamp assembly onto the body of the gland and
tighten the nut until the grommet inside starts to compress onto the sheath of
the cable. This will ensure a tight seal around the cable.
9. Pull the outer braided shield and outer shield drain wire toward the enclosure
so that it fits inside the cable gland clamp assembly. Before tightening the two
screws on the metal clamp, insert one end of the flat braided ground cable
from the vehicle grounding kit, as shown in Figure 2-22. This braided ground
cable is provided as part of the lightning protection kit of the platform.
