(CLASS)
and Indicator
The stations memorized in the preset station can be classified
into CLASS
1 to CLASS 6, according to the type of program
on the FM/AM
band.
For Canadian models, each CLASS has a name assigned to it.
Classical music program will be memorized in CLASS 1.
Pressing CLASS 1 causes (L755 to be displayed for two
seconds, and the class number shown in digital form.

Pressing this button recalls the memorized preset stations in
the order of the corresponding numbers.
Frequency and Character Display
The frequency recalled by 'the preset station buttons
or
selected by the tuning selector buttons
is displayed here
in digital form. When the classified memory button
is
pressed on a Canadian model, the type name of the selected
class is displayed for two seconds, and then the frequency of
the corresponding preset station is shown.
Stereo Indicator (STEREO)
This indicator lights when an FM stereo broadcast is being
received. It does not light when the MODE button [6]is in the
MONDO position or when a weak FM stereo broadcast is being
received.
Signal Strength Indicator
Optimum tuning points are indicated by the number of lighted
lamps.
APR
System
Indicators (APR INDICATOR)
(FM only)
The APR system automatically controls the IF bandwidth
wide/narrow, Auto stereo/mono reception mode, and FM auto
hi-blend on/off. These indicators show the present settings
of these three modes selected by the APR System. Note that
the stereo indicator will not light for stereo broadcasts when
the MODE
"AUTO" indicator is not lit.
. To recall a station stored in the memory, simply press the preset
station button
corresponding to the desired station. Be sure
to set the shift button [11]to the side (1-20 or 21-40) for the
memory channel to be recalled. Since this is a random FM/AM
memory, an AM station will be tuned in if you use a memory
channel in which an AM station is stored.
Press the CLASS
1-6 button to recall the station memorized in the classified
memory button. Pressing the button will call up the stations in
order of the preset number.
. 'f the stereo indicator does not light when an FM stereo
broadcast is received, the broadcast wil! be heard in mono. To
hear the broadcast in stereo , press the MODE button [6]to select
the auto mode.
When the tuning selector button was used for tuning adjustment,
the APR system will automatically select the correct reception
mode settings and the APR mode indicators
will display
these settings.

Press the FM band selector button [9].
Set the tuning mode button [7] to AUTO.
Press the UP or DOWN tuning selector button [8]. The frequency
will continue to increase or decrease until a sufficiently strong
broadcast is reached. To move on to the next broadcast, press
the UP or DOWN
tuning selector again depending on the di-
rection in which you want to go.
To stop scanning during automatic tuning, press the tuning
mode button [7]. The frequency display will immediately stop
at the point at which it was released.
