Moisture sensor
CAUTION
The pressure must be set correctly (±1 bar tolerance).
► If it is not set correctly, this could compromise the accuracy
of the moisture sensor.
► If the pressure does not correspond to the pressure
specified in the Air Guard order, the setting of the moisture
sensor must be adjusted immediately by Dräger or by
Dräger authorised technical personnel.
NOTE
No settings need to be made on the HP Air Guard because
the pressure is kept at a constant value by the pressure
reducer.
4.2.6
Touchscreen
It is recommended that the date and time on the touchscreen
be set correctly to ensure that the respective measured value
curves are displayed with the correct date and time. The
change to/from daylight saving time takes place automatically.
4.3
During operation
CAUTION
Risk of injury due to contaminated breathing air
The air in the pipeline system must not be used or filled during
an alarm (red indicator light) and while the Air Guard is being
purged, otherwise contaminated air may be inhaled or bottles
may become contaminated.
CAUTION
Risk of injury if hearing protection is not worn
The gas is released at a very high speed during purging and is
extremely loud.
► Hearing protection must be worn during purging.
When the breathing air supply is turned on, an increased CO
concentration may occur. This happens especially after the
compressor has been idle for a longer period of time. In this
case, activate the purge to restore the Air Guard to its
operating condition. For this reason, the Air Guard purges
automatically for 6 minutes during the start-up procedure.
If the Air Guard indicates a device malfunction (alarm), the
system needs to be purged. The Air Guard is ready to take
measurements as soon as the signal lamp on the Air Guard is
green.
4.3.1
Gas sensor
The gas sensors start during the warm-up phase after the
Air Guard is turned on. The warm-up time can vary depending
on the sensor; the exact values can be found in the relevant
instructions for use for the sensors.
4.3.2
Differential pressure sensor
1. Turn on the Air Guard.
2. Pressurise the Air Guard.
NOTE
If the Air Guard is ready for operation and the flow has
reached the value needed for measurements, the green
signal lamp light up.
3. If the flow value falls below the minimum level, the red
signal lamp lights up. If the flow is too low, the input
pressure must be checked and the connected hoses
inspected for leakage and damage.
4.3.3
Alarms
CAUTION
If an alarm is triggered, indicating a contamination, the
following must be observed:
► Due to the duration of the measurement, the measuring
system has a measurement delay or response time of at
least 6 minutes and additionally the delay through the
pipeline system described above.
► The measurement delay must be taking into consideration
as well is there is a shutoff value upstream of the Air Guard.
If the shutoff valve is shut too early, contaminated air may
be supplied but not detected by the Air Guard because of
the measurement delay.
► The operator shall determine when to inspect, empty and
clean previously filled containers. Purge the Air Guard (see
chapter 4.4.8). Observe the instructions for use for the
sensors.
NOTE
If the limit values are exceeded again after a purging time of >
6 minutes, the entire system (compressor, filter etc.) must be
checked. If necessary, service or repair the system, or fit
additional filters such as DAP 5000 to filter CO
NOTE
The alarm limit values can be viewed via the Air Guard menu
(see chapter 4.4.11).
2
NOTE
In the case of a device malfunction, the red signal lamp lights
up. At the same time, the two potential-free contacts are
opened.
A collective alarm is issued on the corresponding relay if one
of the set limit values is exceeded. The green signal lamp goes
out.
If the preconfigured warning value is exceeded, the yellow
signal lamp lights up and a message is generated in the
software; additionally, a yellow line is displayed in the lower
area of the screen. If the value falls below the warning
threshold again, the yellow signal lamp automatically goes out,
the green signal lamp lights up again and a message is
generated.
If the preconfigured alarm value is exceeded, the red signal
lamp lights up and a message is generated in the software;
additionally, a red line is displayed in the lower area of the
screen. At the same time, the two potential-free contacts are
opened.
