Troubleshooting
Flow rate, pressure or vacuum too low
The pump does not reach the flow rate stated in the technical specifica-
tions or the data sheet.
Cause
Condensation has col-
lected in the pump
head.
There is overpressure
on the pressure side
and at the same time
vacuum or pressure
above atmospheric
pressure on the suction
side.
Pneumatic lines or con-
nection parts have in-
sufficient cross-sec-
tions or are throttled.
Leaks occur at pneu-
matic connections,
lines or pump head.
Pneumatic connections
or lines are partially or
completely blocked.
Head parts are soiled.
Operating diaphragm
broken
Diaphragm and valves
are worn or defective.

Troubleshooting
à
Isolate the source of condensation from the pump.
à
Flush the pump with air at atmospheric pressure for
a few minutes (if necessary for safety reasons: with
an inert gas).
à
Install the pump at the highest location in the sys-
tem.
à
Change the pneumatic conditions.
à
Disconnect the pump from the system to determine
the output values.
à
Eliminate any throttling (e.g., valve) if necessary.
à
Use lines or connection parts with a larger cross-
section if necessary.
à
Eliminate the leaks.
à
Check the pneumatic connections and lines.
à
Remove materials and particles that are causing the
blockage.
à
Clean the head components.
à
Shut down the pump immediately.
à
Replace diaphragm and valves (see Chapter 8 Ser-
vicing [} 39]).
