Checking the direction of rotation

1. Check that the SBM 55S NW is correctly connected
to the mains power supply.
2. Switch on the SBM 55S NW with the On/Off switch.

After the SBM 55S NW is switched on, the software
version appears in the control/display panel for
several seconds. After this, both displays show the
value 0.
3. Close the wheel protection cap.
 The shaft rotates.

If the shaft does not turn, press the <START> key
4. Check the direction of rotation of the shaft.

The correct direction of rotation is indicated by
an adhesive on the right side of the SBM 55S NW
(chap.1.2.1).

If the direction of rotation is incorrect, the
SBM 55S NW comes to an immediate stop and dis-
plays the error message ERR 3 (see section 11).

Calibration of SBM 55S NW

Calibration must be performed after initial commis-
sioning.
1. Flange calibration.
2. Vernier caliper calibration.
3. SBM 55S NW calibration.
4. Perform reference measurement.
