2. ASSEMBLING

2.1 COUPLING THE BAR TO THE DRIVE UNIT

The bar is fixed to the drive unit by screws
Fix the blade to the blade header n. 2 on the blade using screws n.3 fig.1-2.
Caution! When installing the bar on the drive, pay special attention to the
bearing that transmit drive to the cutting blade: it must not exert axial pressure on
it.

2.2 COUPLING THE DRIVE UNIT TO THE MACHINE

The drive unit 70 can be attached to the engine section using the quick coupling
it is fitted with.
Insert the drive unit sleeve A fig.3 until coupler B has snapped completely into
place.
Check to make sure that the bar retains a degree of swivel so that it can adapt to
the ground contour.
Follow these steps to separate the machine and the drive unit:
- Engine running
- PTO in neutral
- Engage 1st reverse gear
- For machine so equipped: Use the fixture release lever on the handlebars. This
will release coupler B fig. 3. If the machine does not have this release lever,
release the couple by hand.
- Let the clutch out slightly so that machine reverses a little.

2.3 INSTALLING THE BALLAST

(supplied as an optional)
The ballast is added under the hood as illustrated in fig.9.
It is recommended when mowing on slopes and when the drive unit has a diesel
engine.

2.4 HEIGHT REGULATING SLIDES

(Supplied as an optional)
when you have to mow wet or uneven ground, it is good operating practice to
install the height regulating slides (optional) 1 fig. 1 on the mower bar. They are
fixed to the bar with screws n.2.
Mower bar cutting height is regulated by setting slide height by screws n.4.
