4. INSTALLATION

3 ASSEMBLY OF THE VERTICAL PUMP UNIT WITH COMBUSTION ENGINE
The vertical pump units with angle transmission command, or with angle
transmission with booster, can be connected to a combustion engine
(tractor or diesel engine, by PTO shaft transmission) (Fig.32)
WARNING!
Before installing the universal joint transmission, make sure it has suitable
requirements as regards power, length and safety devices. Also make sure
that the transmission has the required protection and that it is properly
integrated by the tractor side and unit side protection devices. Also make
sure that, when moving, the transmission does not come into contact with
any tractor or unit parts (Fig.33)
WARNING!
WINDING HAZARD!
Do not approach the action area of the universal joint transmission.
Do not wear loose lab coats or clothing with grips that can get hooked on
the transmission. Contact may cause serious accidents.
Carefully read the user manual of the universal joint transmission and operating ma-
chine before putting them into operation, in order to verify if and which safety devices
are required and how to set them up.
3.1 Commissioning:
Be sure to install the correct transmission part on the tractor (see instructions or ima-
ges on the universal joint).
Make sure that the coupling devices to PTOs are securely hooked.
Fix the anti-rotation chains of protection devices
Check that the machine side and tractor side protection devices are properly installed.
Any missing or damaged parts must be restored.
Check that the maximum and minimum lengths are compatible with the required wor-
king lengths.
