Disinfection Steps:
1. Fully immerse the adapter in the basin containing the disinfectant solution.
2. Using a clean, lint-free cloth, clean the outer surface in disinfectant solution.
3. Attach the 30 cm3 (30 ml) syringe and flush the adapter thoroughly with disinfectant solution to clean the inside.
4. Soak the adapter for the amount of time and at the temperature recommended by the disinfectant manufacturer.
5. Remove the adapter from the disinfectant solution and immerse it in a basin of sterile water.
6. Attach the 30 cm3 (30 ml) syringe and flush the adapter thoroughly with sterile water.
7. Gently agitate the adapter to thoroughly rinse.
8. Remove the adapter from the sterile water.
9. Attach the 30 cm3 (30 ml) syringe and flush air to remove water from the inside.
10. Immerse in non-sterile water.
11. Fill small container with 70% ethyl or isopropyl alcohol and immerse the adapter
12. Attach the 30 cm3 (30 ml) syringe and flush thoroughly with alcohol.
13. Gently agitate the adapter to thoroughly rinse.
14. Remove the adapter from the alcohol.
15. Attach the 30cm3 (30 ml) syringe and flush air to remove moisture from the inside.
16. Wipe and dry the outer surface with a clean, lint-free cloth.
Autoclave/Steam Sterilization:
1. Before sterilization, adapter must be thoroughly cleaned and dried.
2. Place the ENDO SMARTCAP™ adapter in sterile packaging.
3. For details on operation of the autoclave, refer to the instruction manual for the autoclave or other manufacturer instructions.
