Function and application
The ADNE−LAS electric short−stroke cylinder is a cylinder with piston rod and
integrated linear motor. The linear motor 2 moves the piston rod 1 backwards
and forwards with force control. The ADNE−LAS electric short−stroke cylinder,
together with the CMFL end−position controller, has an integrated end−position
recognition through evaluation of the electric values of the coil system.
End−position controller and motor operate in a closed control circuit. This allows
operation of the motor in four preset movement profiles.
The ADNE−LAS short−stroke cylinder, in combination with the CMFL end−position
controller, is intended for handling and movement tasks with high dynamic
response requirements. It is not intended for manufacturing processes which are
sensitive to copper or PTFE.

Transport and storage
· Ensure the following storage conditions are met:
short storage times and
cool, dry, shaded, corrosion−resistant storage locations.
free of strong influence from magnetic fields (e.g. pulse discharges).

Requirements for product use
Warning
Hot surface temperatures (over 70 °C in normal operation, over 100 °C when
there is a malfunction) can cause burns or cause inflammable materials to ignite.
· Make sure that hot surfaces on the short−stroke cylinder:
are either protected from contact (e.g. by means of a protective grill) or, if
necessary,
are only touched with sufficient protection against burns (e.g. provision of
protective gloves)
are not situated near inflammable materials (e.g. inflammable cleaning
materials).
Warning
Strong magnetic fields impair the functioning of electronic devices (e.g. heart
pacemakers). Magnetic forces can lead to dangers (e.g. injuries).
· When the electric short−stroke cylinder is disassembled, strong magnetic
fields may occur. In the assembled condition, magnetic fields are harmless.
· Leave screws and threaded pins unchanged if there is no direct request to do
this in these instructions.
· Note that magnetic fields can also occur if the linear motor is badly damaged
(e.g. due to incorrect transport).
Note
Particles (e.g. dust, liquids,) which penetrate into the short−stroke cylinder can
cause damage or lead to reduced running performance.
· Make sure that the dust concentrations for the permitted IP protection class
are always complied with (è chapter Technical data").
Note
Improper handling can result in malfunctions.
· Make sure that all the instructions in this chapter are always observed. In this
way, the product will perform as intended.
· Compare the limit values specified in these operating instructions with those of
your actual application (e.g. forces, torques, temperatures, masses, speeds).
Only compliance with the load limits allows operation of the product in
compliance with the relevant safety regulations.
· Take into consideration the ambient conditions at the location of use.
Corrosive elements in the environment (e.g. ozone) will reduce the service life of the
product.
· Comply with the regulations of the trade association, the German Technical
Control Board (TÜV) or corresponding national regulations.
· Remove transport packaging, such as foils and cardboard.
The packaging is intended for recycling (except for: oiled paper = other waste).
· Use the product in its original condition without any unauthorised
modifications.
· Note the warnings and instructions on the product and in the relevant operating
instructions.
· Take the tolerance of the tightening torques into account. Unless otherwise
specified, the tolerance is ±20 %.

Installation
Warning
Uncontrolled moving masses can cause injury to people or damage to property
(squeezing).
· Before carrying out mounting, installation and maintenance work, switch off
the power supply for the end−position controller.
· Do not modify the screws and threaded pins if not directly requested to do so in
these operating instructions.
